Senior Structural Design Engineer

AECOM

• Lead Structural Engineer on projects, may include reviewing project designs, plans and specifications. • Providing specialized technical input on water-related projects. • Managing structural projects, including design tasks and coordination of work with multi-disciplined engineering staff within AECOM and our joint venture partners. • Experience in preparation of proposals, technical specifications and design documents, report writing, technical engineering support, and limited support and inspection during construction. • Verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices. • As necessary, modifies established guidelines, devises new approaches, applies existing criteria in new ways and draws conclusions from comparative situations. • Perform condition assessments and site visits as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • 10 + years' experience in structural design.
  • Master's degree in structural engineering.
  • Project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, including technical report writing.
  • Structural problem analysis skills (including knowledge/use of design and calculation tools and software).
  • Knowledgeable of other standard engineering practices, techniques, and applicable codes, such as ACI, ASIC, ASCE, AASHTO, and various USACE Engineering Manuals.
  • Knowledge of current structural modeling software tools including finite element analysis.
  • A current PE license in the State of LA, TX, or others.
