The Engineer is responsible for understanding the current market design, evaluating and recommending design modifications, and analyzing the impacts of proposed changes. This role supports the development of market design expertise across the organization and plays a key role in facilitating market design changes through the SPP stakeholder process. The Engineer supports the Market Working Group by performing market analysis, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring that implemented software and processes align with approved market design principles. Key Responsibilities - Lead market design analysis, evaluation, and implementation of design changes. - Analyze market data and develop simulations, metrics, and reports to identify market issues and opportunities. - Facilitate market design changes through the SPP stakeholder process and Market Working Group. - Coordinate across internal teams (Operations, Legal, Regulatory, Settlements, Training, IT) to ensure alignment with market design. - Engage with market participants, vendors, FERC, and other RTOs/ISOs on market design and policy matters. - Provide technical leadership, engineering judgment, and subject matter expertise on market design initiatives. - Research and benchmark market designs used by other RTOs/ISOs. - Present market design proposals and analysis to committees, working groups, and senior leadership. - Support FERC filings, market education, and training of junior staff and stakeholders. - Ensure compliance with SPP policies, maintain accountability, and meet project deadlines. Qualifications - Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited university. - Degree should be in a calculus-based engineering field; preferred fields include: - Electrical Engineering - Computer Engineering - Industrial Engineering - Mechanical Engineering - Systems Engineering Requirements - Sr Engineer: Five (5) years of relevant Engineering experience; Professional Engineer License may satisfy one year of experience requirement. - Sr Engineer II: Nine (9) years of relevant Engineering experience; Professional Engineer License or Advanced degree in related field may satisfy one (1) year of experience requirement. - Lead Engineer: - 12 years of relevant Engineering experience; OR - 11 years of relevant Engineering experience with a Master’s Degree in Electrical, Computer, Industrial, Mechanical or Systems Engineering; OR - 10 years of relevant Engineering experience with a Doctoral degree in Electrical, Computer, Industrial, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering. - A Professional Engineer license is required for this role; however, 12 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a Professional Engineer License. - Highly proficient at organizing and conducting technical and analytical studies. - High level of understanding of electric market concepts and ability to apply understanding. - Ability to support cross-team and multi-team initiatives and projects. - Strong facilitation, presentation, and public speaking skills. - Strong interpersonal and team-building skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Competence with communication and data handling software such as Microsoft Office. - Demonstrate proficiency in business acumen and professional conduct. - Ability to function with constantly changing and multiple priorities. - Strong organizational skills. - Ability to recognize and address strategic issues important to Market Design. - Skilled at analyzing complex issues and communicating results to diverse stakeholders. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of the workweek are Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Working extended hours may be required. Travel Requirement This position requires moderate travel for in-office employees (10-15%) and moderate travel for remote employees (15-25%). • Lead development, implementation and support of all VDC processes across the region • Administer and support VDC coordination kick-off meeting and subsequent meetings • Configuring of project site to host BIM data (if applicable) or other equitable platforms • Perform VDC work and support project personnel in VDC processes, including assistance with related technical support issues

• Support development and configuration of SCADA systems in accordance with project requirements and established STC standards. • Implement HMI graphics, alarms, data models, and system logic based on defined design intent. • Assist in developing SCADA scripts, templates, and reusable components under guidance. • Translate documented sequences of operation and control narratives into functional SCADA configurations. • Perform testing and validation of assigned SCADA components in development and staging environments. • Support Senior and Lead SCADA Engineers across assigned projects. • Participate in on-site activities during construction and commissioning phases to gain system and workflow familiarity. • Observe and assist with point-to-point checkout, system validation, and coordination with field and commissioning teams. • Participate in design reviews, coordination meetings, and commissioning planning activities. • Document observations, issues, and lessons learned to support continuous improvement. • Support FAT, IST, and commissioning activities as directed, both remotely and on-site. • Assist with troubleshooting during commissioning and live system cutovers under supervision. • Execute test procedures and validate system behavior within assigned scope. • Escalate technical issues appropriately to senior engineers. • Actively develop technical skills in SCADA systems, control concepts, and system integration. • Incorporate feedback from senior engineers to improve execution quality and technical understanding. • Contribute to internal documentation, standards updates, and knowledge-sharing efforts. • Progress toward increased independence in development and system ownership over time.

• Translate approved product concepts and requirements into detailed CAD models and technical specifications. • Develop and iterate physical prototypes using 3D printing and other rapid prototyping methods. • Design for manufacturability (DFM), ensuring parts are optimized for tooling, durability, and assembly, as we designed for cost effectiveness. • Lead functional, durability, and usability testing in real-world environments (including testing with chickens and small animals). • Own tooling feedback and revision cycles with mold makers and manufacturers. • Serve as RentACoop’s technical representative in communications with overseas factories, working closely with the Product and Supply Chain team. • Review and approve pre-production samples and Golden Samples against functional and quality standards. • Participate in early product concept and review meetings to understand customer needs, use cases, and performance goals. • Document test results, design revisions, and lessons learned for future product generations. • Support timeline management by flagging technical risks and ensuring development milestones are met.
