Job Description

Delivery Manager – Critical Infrastructure

Smart Tech Contracting, LLC

• Provide leadership and oversight for large-scale automation and integration programs supporting hyperscale and colocation data-center campuses. • Lead a team of Project Managers, ensuring consistent delivery across programs ranging from 20 MW to 200 MW+. • Oversee portfolio health by monitoring project status, budgets, and risk profiles; proactively intervene to resolve performance gaps. • Own portfolio-level budgets, cash-flow forecasts, contingency planning, and profitability targets. • Serve as primary escalation point for clients, general contractors, commissioning agents, and OEM partners. • Champion use of BIM 360/Procore, and AI-driven analytics to improve schedule certainty, cost predictability, and operational efficiency.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; equivalent military/industry experience accepted
  • 8+ years delivering mission-critical automation or controls projects, with at least 4 years managing multiple Project Managers or large delivery teams.
  • Technical knowledge in BAS, PLC, and SCADA platform implementation (Rockwell, Schneider, Siemens, Ignition, AVEVA, Niagara 4) and communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, OPC-UA, Fieldbus, Profibus).
  • Knowledge with critical facility standards: Uptime Institute Tier III/IV, NFPA 70E, IEEE 3004, and hyperscale owner design guides.
  • Skilled leadership in schedule-compressed, high-pressure delivery environments.
  • Skilled in Primavera P6 or MS Project, Procore, BIM 360, and cost-management platforms.
  • Skilled in establishing delivery frameworks, enforcing PMO standards, and driving accountability across teams.
  • Skilled in managing P&L responsibilities, reviewing change orders, and approving vendor/subcontractor agreements.
  • Skilled in applying industry standards (Uptime Institute, NFPA, IEEE) to ensure compliance, reliability, and performance.
  • Skilled in identifying portfolio-level risks related to supply chain, labor, permitting, and scheduling.
  • Skilled in workforce planning, performance management, and succession readiness.
  • Skilled in leading portfolio review meetings, resolving escalations, and aligning delivery with client objectives.
  • Skilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file management
  • Skilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
  • Ability to lead, coordinate, and monitor multiple concurrent projects within a complex portfolio
  • Ability to optimize financial performance while maintaining client satisfaction and quality standards
  • Ability to deliver large-scale infrastructure programs from design through integrated systems testing and turnover.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective mitigation strategies to safeguard delivery performance.
  • Ability to foster a high-performance culture built on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Ability to interpret AE construction drawings, BAS shop drawings, manufacturers wiring diagrams, standards documentation, submittals and product data sheets.

  • Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non-technical information).
  • Ability to communicate effectively directly with clients and at times serve as primary point of client contact.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively plan and delegate the work of others.
  • Ability to achieve certification for NFPA70E and / or OSHA training as required.
  • Ability to maintain the jobsite and keep it organized.
