What This Role Requires of You: ·         Proactive Monitoring: Keep an eye on SQL Servers and resolve issues via the ticketing system (CW PSA) before they escalate. Escalate tickets to Tier 3 support when necessary. ·         Technical Expertise: Showcase your advanced technical and T-SQL programming skills. ·         Performance Tuning: Fine-tune indexes and rework queries for optimal performance. ·         HA/DR Strategies: Develop, maintain, and monitor high availability and disaster recovery strategies (Clusters, Mirroring, AlwaysOn, Replication, Log Shipping). ·         Security: Ensure data and access to SQL Server are secure. ·         SQL Programming: Demonstrate advanced technical and programming skills. ·         Replication: Design, implement, and maintain data warehouses/ODS systems using SQL Server Replication, SSIS, SSAS, and T-SQL scripting. ·         On-Call Rotation: Participate in the on-call rotation (PagerDuty) for emergency coverage. When on-call, respond to text messages within 1 hour. ·         Communication: Keep the team and customers informed about incident progress, changes, and outages. ·         PostgreSQL Enthusiasm is a Plus: Have some experience with PostgreSQL and a desire to dive deeper. ·         Administrative Tasks: Enter time and expenses in ConnectWise PSA, attend scheduled meetings, and complete training materials in a timely manner.

• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of PostgreSQL clusters • Design and manage high-availability (HA) PostgreSQL clusters across all environments • Proactively monitor and resolve bottlenecks • Implement advanced partitioning strategies and automated archival policies • Own the backup/DR strategy and execute zero-downtime upgrades • Optimize read-replicas and materialized views for BI reporting • Utilize Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and scripting to automate provisioning • Design and orchestrate automated failover to maintain RTO of <15 minutes • Enforce SOC2/GDPR standards and implement data retention policies
