Your job is more than a job GENERAL DUTIES HIM Analyst performs analysis on all assigned charts for the organization: Assigns chart deficiencies with an accuracy rate of 95% per month. Verifies each chart deficiency is assigned to the correct provider. Maintains a two-day turnaround on all charts assigned to the analysis workflows. Monitors the transcription system to ensure that any transcribed documents are on the correct encounters for completion. Acts as the physician liaison and HIM lead for chart completion. Monitors charts approaching delinquency and contacts physicians when necessary to facilitate chart completion: Calls physicians when an issue is identified for chart completion. Assists HIM Analyst with issues when assigning chart deficiencies. Responsible for monitoring the deficiencies preventing coding queue in Epic and addressing issues for the chart to be completed. Organizes and sets priorities to ensure that objectives are met regarding chart completion. Maintains a cooperative working relationship with physicians and staff. Communicates effectively with all personnel involved in the processing of medical records and HIM operations. Monitors all delinquent charts for completion by generating notification letters to the medical staff for completion: Identifies physicians that will be placed on suspension due to incomplete / delinquent medical records. Runs reports and identifies all delinquent charts. Reviews all delinquent reports to ensure the deficiency is correct and assigned to the correct physician / provider. Generates notification letters to physicians for incomplete and delinquent charts as assigned by the facility's policy. Escalates appropriate issues to the HIM Management as needed for assistance. Understands and applies all applicable policies and procedures with regards to HIM Operations: Follows appropriate policy and procedures with regards to chart completion and deficiency tracking according to each facilities bylaws, rules and regulations.
