Partnerships Research Assistant

GO Tutor Corps

• Research and compile contact information for district decision-makers including Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Directors of Partnerships, Chief Academic Officers, Title I Coordinators, Community School Coordinators, and Principals • Gather professional background information on key stakeholders • Build and maintain organized contact databases with verified email addresses, phone numbers, and relevant notes • Identify "grasstops" influencers and map grassroots connections • Send pre-drafted outreach emails and execute email sequences • Monitor district websites and social media for partnership opportunities

Job Requirements

  • Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Strong internet research skills and ability to navigate education databases, district websites, and professional networks
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Gmail) or Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written communication skills for email drafting
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Comfort with repetitive tasks and systematic workflows
  • Experience with CRM systems, database management, or contact research (strongly preferred)
  • Familiarity with education sector organizational structures (strongly preferred)
  • Background in education, nonprofit work, or AmeriCorps service (strongly preferred)
  • Current or former GO Tutor Corps Fellow (strongly preferred)
  • Data cleaning and spreadsheet management (bonus skills)

Role Description The Senior Lightning Scientist is a subject-matter expert responsible for advancing AccuWeather’s lightning detection, analysis, and interpretation capabilities. The Senior Lightning Scientist plays a critical role in improving lightning detection accuracy, developing new methodologies, guiding technical strategy, and collaborating across science, engineering, and product teams to deliver industry-leading lightning intelligence products. Working closely with data science, hardware, and software engineering teams, this role drives innovation in lightning detection technologies, signal processing, and real-time analysis systems that support AccuWeather’s operational, commercial, and public safety offerings. Qualifications - Advanced degree (PhD or MS with significant experience) in Atmospheric Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Geophysics, or a related field. - Deep understanding of lightning physics, electromagnetic emissions from lightning, and storm electrification processes. - Strong background in RF systems, signal processing, and spectral analysis. - Demonstrated experience with lightning detection techniques such as TOA, TDOA, interferometry, or related geolocation methods. - Proficiency in algorithm development and data analysis using Python, C++, or similar scientific computing environments. - Experience working with large-scale, real-time observational data systems. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. - Ability to communicate complex scientific and technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
