Role Description This position is a Pharmacy Technician in the Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) Clinical Contact Center (CCC) part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team. The incumbent is efficient, motivated, and focused on customer satisfaction. This position is performed above the full performance level and includes a range of higher-level duties. - Works collaboratively with VISN programs, services, and interdisciplinary team members to provide access to care and meet the needs of Veterans, their family members and/or legal representatives via various available contact modalities including telephone calls, secure messaging, chat, text messaging, and video. - Routinely reviews computer medication profiles for therapeutic duplication, prescription noncompliance, allergies, and drug reactions. - Processes and submits patient requests for new prescription orders and renewal requests, including controlled substances, accurately and in a timely manner. - Consistently documents patient contact and resolution in VISN CCC software and/or the Electronic Health Record (EHR). - Assists in training for lower graded technicians and technician students. - Assists in the completion of workload for other VISN CCC Pharmacy Services in the event of natural disasters, low staffing, or other contingency needs. - Performs all duties of lower graded technicians, if required. - Actively and diligently treats all Veterans with respect and utmost dignity. - Stays abreast of and consistently follows regulations, policies, and directives to ensure safe medication distribution. - Actively supports VISN VA Health Connect team members in troubleshooting issues with CCC software systems, telephone software, and databases. - Participates in continuous daily improvement and VISN VA Health Connect initiatives. - Completes additional duties as assigned. Qualifications - United States Citizenship - Certification: Must pass a national certification exam and hold an active national certification through either: - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). - National Health Career Association (NHA), Certified Pharmacy Technician (ExCPT). - Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. This is a full-time work from home position that must reside within the state of Arizona. Freedom Fertility Pharmacy, a division of Evernorth Health Services a part of The Cigna Group is looking for Pharmacy Technicians to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician with Freedom Fertility, you will be assisting patients in receiving needed medications to help achieve their dreams of building a family. You’ll be empowered to engage patients, insurance companies, and multiple departments to process orders and ensure timely shipment of medications. This role is very detail oriented, and you’ll spend your day working on our computer system, answering incoming calls and making outbound calls to patients to review benefit coverage. Here’s a little more on how you’ll make a difference: - Associate prescription images to patient profiles and create patient profiles in system if needed. - Prepare prescriptions for processing, including assessing validity of prescription. - Manually route orders to appropriate stage for processing, validation or clarity from Doctors’ offices, insurances and/or patients. - Accurately enter prescriptions into our system, run test claims, run test claims and support patients with their medication orders. Use the knowledge you gain from training, your problem-solving skills and support from your team to accurately process prescription claims so they will be dispensed accurately. - Associate and add insurance/discount program information to patients or specific medication, including setting up coordination of benefits. - Resolve rejections and update patient on any and all delays in processing accordingly. - Interact directly with healthcare providers and insurance companies. Research issues with pharmacists and doctors’ offices and provide guidance to our patients about medication coverage. - Respond to incoming calls from patients with questions about their prescriptions, prescription coverage including copays, as well as setting up patient-driven medication refills. - Complete multiple tasks without sacrificing attention to detail or customer service. You will be busy handling multiple requests at any given time as well as documenting information in our system. What you need to do the job: - High School Diploma, or GED required. - 1+ years Pharmacy Technician experience required. - Experience working prescriptions claims and knowledge of rejections required. - Valid National Pharmacy Technician certification is required. - Valid Arizona State pharmacy technician license is required. - Microsoft Office proficiency and data entry skills - Basic math skills (addition/subtraction/multiplication) - Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Must reside within the state of AZ.
