Role Description The virtual program instructional paraprofessional supports students who are virtually learning while working onsite in the school setting. These positions will work with several virtual program teachers to help support students in their virtual learning programs. Qualifications - High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent. - General computer skills required. - Experience in a school setting is preferred. - Experience in a virtual setting is preferred. - Experience with Microsoft Teams and/or Seesaw is preferred. - Experience working with school-aged learners is preferred. Requirements - Under supervision, works with virtual learners with online lessons using various platforms as directed by administration. - Develops positive, effective working relationships with learners and staff. - Supports school administration to provide additional interventions for learners. - Supports routine classroom operation, daily activities, and assignments. - Provides information to learners, staff, and administration by answering questions and requests. - Connects and shares ideas through appropriate/applicable formats to express thoughts and ideas with integrity. - Enforces school and classroom rules to help instill appropriate behaviors for learners. - Utilizes technological tools to communicate and to record and report data. - Accepts and responds to constructive coaching feedback. - Partners with staff to resolve potential controversy and conflict through respectful discussion. - Proactively seeks to understand the ideas, opinions, and skills of others. - Demonstrates understanding of learner's needs and goals, is courteous, respectful, and fair. - Understands the complexities of cultural and global issues and how they relate to employee and learners' experiences. - Connects with team members and shares ideas in an effort to improve the overall learner and employee experience. - Adheres to confidentiality of all learners and adheres to ethical responsibilities set by the school district. - Reasons, interprets, and analyzes information to generate new knowledge and understanding. - Identifies, integrates, and utilizes appropriate technological tools into work production. - Maintains and acquires technical knowledge by attending required trainings and passing competency assessments. - Assists learners and staff with technological tools. - Maintains communication with supervisor and director regarding general feedback, career advancement opportunities, and areas of growth opportunities. - Maintains composure while dealing with stressful situations. - Proactively seeks out resolutions and takes initiative to resolve knowledge gaps. - Provides assistance to problem-solving and troubleshoots technology concerns for learners in virtual programs. - Operates copy machine and produces copies as needed for teachers and administrative staff. - Enforces school and classroom rules to teach learners appropriate behaviors. - Prompts safe and socially acceptable replacement behaviors to build a repertoire of communication, social interaction, and problem-solving skills. - Supervises learners in class, between classes, during lunch and breaktime. - Performs duties in an organized, punctual manner. - Keeps appropriate confidentiality regulations in place along with an awareness of district requirements and school board policies. - Consistently regulates behavior management of learners. Benefits - Starting salary begins at $17.50-$20.25/hour, based on experience. - Position follows the Classified Salary Schedule 2026-2027 at A125. - Ongoing 182-day position following academic calendar. - Schedule: Mon-Fri (Approx. 6 hrs./day).
