Title: Jr. Web Designer Location: Harrisburg, PA Interactive: Design, Development, & Project Management – Interactive Design / On-site Job Description: About the Role WebFX is seeking an entry-level candidate for our Interactive Design team! Our ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree (or will soon have one!), a background in and eye for design, and is excited about building a career in digital design. Basic design skills and background are expected, but no years of professional experience are required - we'll train you on what you need to know. The Qualifications: Who You Are Education: - A Bachelor's Degree: All majors welcome! - GPA: 3.4 or above (Upcoming grads are encouraged to apply - we interview and hire up to a year in advance!) Design Portfolio: - A design portfolio submission is required to be considered - there are no set requirements for how many design samples must be included, but we want to get a sense of your design style and skills! Suggested Experience and Skills: - Prior experience working, in any field (for example: a part-time job, summer job, internship, etc) - A strong design eye, and an understanding of design fundamentals such as layout, hierarchy, typography, etc - Experience working in Adobe Creative Suite and/or Figma - Familiarity with web design/UX best practices - Strong verbal and written communication skills Tools/Technical Skills: (Not required, but awesome to have!) - Excel/Google Suite - Basic HTML/CSS - Wordpress, or a similar content management system Qualities and Traits: - You're passionate about creating beautiful, memorable graphics, advertisements, and websites - You're interested in the web, and like keeping up with new technology - You're professional, dependable, and self-motivated - You take pride in your work and always strive for high-quality results - You work with urgency and enjoy getting things done - You're proactive when it comes to solving problems - You're a lifelong learner, and are always looking to stretch and grow your skills - You love thinking both creatively and analytically, and love using data to make decisions Don't stress if you don't have every experience listed - we hire for soft skills, and believe hard skills can be trained. In This Role, You’ll Get To… -Work with WebFX in a long-term partnership as part of our remote Copy team -Edit an array of content types (think blogs, sales copy, long form content, etc), and spanning over 800+ industries and over 5,000 publishers and clients on the web and in the media -Perform research to understand the topics assigned, and clearly communicate them to the client’s audience -Manage your time effectively in order to turn around projects on deadline -Troubleshoot, solve problems on the fly, and figure things out independently when needed - take initiative and accountability for all assigned projects -Enjoy flexibility in this 40-hour/week independent contractor position, with the opportunity to tackle assignments from home!
