Role Description The Field Claims Adjuster, Property is responsible for delivering a consistent and exceptional claims experience through the fair and equitable handling of moderate to high complexity property claims. This role involves: - Investigating and adjusting claims - Interpreting and explaining policy coverage - Documenting claim activity - Managing files from initial report through resolution - Providing timely, professional service while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong member support throughout the claims process - Frequent travel may be required Qualifications - Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record - 2+ years of insurance adjusting or related experience - Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation, or actively working toward completion - Strong knowledge of property estimating software (XactAnalysis preferred) - Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including climbing roofs and carrying up to 50 pounds - Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to travel regularly and work outside standard business hours - Exceptional customer service, communication, investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills - Strong organizational, time management, negotiation, decision-making, and teamwork skills - Post-secondary education is considered a strong asset - Ability to communicate effectively in French is considered an asset Requirements - Provide direction and support to members throughout the claims process - Ensure timely and proactive communication through various channels - Adjust property claims of moderate complexity - Review and interpret policy wordings and determine policy coverage - Establish timely and accurate loss and expense reserves - Conduct comprehensive investigations on all files - Coordinate and manage services with vendors and service providers - Negotiate and convey claim settlements within authority limits - Maintain an effective and current diary system - Demonstrate knowledge of policy coverages and comply with regulatory requirements - Understand Provincial and National Building Codes - Review repair estimates and generate intermediate to senior level estimates - Provide ongoing technical advice and mentoring to claims staff - Work in partnership with other claims staff Benefits - Fully remote position - Company vehicle provided - Company cell phone provided - Coverage for work-related travel expenses - Generous, premium-free health and dental plan - Pension plan - Support for professional development

Role Description The Field Claims Supervisor contributes to Wawanesa’s goal of delivering an exceptional and consistent claims service experience by providing leadership to the claims team, focusing on the achievement of key business goals and customer service standards. Job Responsibilities - Provide exceptional customer service. - Coordinate and supervise daily activities of claims team. - Provide guidance and leadership to staff and specialists. - Manage service levels by organizing, distributing, monitoring workflow and setting priorities to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity as guided by corporate policies, procedures and business plans. - Conduct or contribute to employee development, and employee performance management through coaching and following up on the development of their team’s technical competencies. - Conduct periodic review of claims files and coach team to strive for continuous improvement and development by setting and tracking individual and team performance objectives. - Provide direction and leadership in areas such as liability determination, investigation, policy interpretation, settlement negotiations and establishing reserves for claims. - Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications - 5+ years progressive property insurance adjusting experience, field property experience a strong asset. - Chartered Insurance Professional Designation and a desire to continue relevant industry education (FCIP, etc.). - Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize work, manage competing demands, and maintain team productivity in a fast-paced environment. - Proven ability to coach, guide, and motivate employees to support performance, technical development, and continuous improvement. - Effective communication skills, with the ability to provide clear direction, set expectations, and establish performance standards for individuals and teams. - Confident decision-making skills, supported by sound judgment, analytical thinking, and the ability to assess claims-related issues and recommend appropriate action. - Strong customer service orientation, including empathy, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering a consistent claims experience. - Strong investigative, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. - Solid knowledge of property claims, policy wordings, coverage interpretation, corporate guidelines, policies, and procedures.
