Role Description The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for delivering the highest level of customer service for managing investment portfolios to achieve our clients' financial goals. This role involves: - Proactive client contact and relationship management - Developing and implementing investment strategies for client portfolios - Contributing to internal investment committees This is a key contributor to our investment and relationship management team, and we are seeking someone with a deep understanding of investment markets and analysis who can effectively communicate with clients of all levels of investment sophistication. Role Description Washington Trust has an opportunity for a highly motivated Wealth Associate to join our Wealth Management Fiduciary Services team. The Wealth Associate will work with a team of trust and estate administration professionals to provide support services for account administration. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 5+ years’ experience in wealth management fiduciary services and would like to expand their understanding of trust administration and estate settlement. This position is part of a career progression track and may lead to wealth advice, managing fiduciary accounts, financial planning, and/or client investments as experience grows. Primary Responsibilities - Client Support: - Assist customers and answer basic inquiries, answer telephone calls and direct customers to appropriate areas. - Set up client meetings and accurately and timely respond to requests for information and action. - Process cash distributions (checks, wires, bill payments, and ACH). - Team Support: - File, research, or obtain information needed by Trust Officers and management, as directed. - Collect documentation, gather information with beneficiaries, and create/populate forms for account opening and closing, annual reviews, distributions, production, and creating events in systems of record, account maintenance, and similar functions. - Prepare correspondence and reports as needed. Provide support to team members and to colleagues within the Bank, as requested. - Quality Assurance: - Run reports and maintain reminders to ensure that proper procedures are followed, deadlines are met, and that there is a consistent approach throughout the department. - Follow up and confirm all essential tasks requested by Trust Officers have been completed. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of 5+ years wealth management administration, trust administration, estate settlement and/or direct client service experience. Investment experience is preferred but not required. - Demonstrated excellence with problem resolution, client follow up and successful cultivation of highly satisfied client relationships. - Demonstrated knowledge of customer service principles and practices; strong PC skills; intermediate level Microsoft Word and Excel skills. - Detail oriented, exceptional organizational skills and the ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously and with accuracy. - Professional and courteous telephone skills. - Demonstrated superior communication and interpersonal skills. - Experience or expertise in any of these areas is desirable: trust administration, trust accounting systems and terminology, account maintenance. Requirements - This position is in Providence or Westerly, RI, but has the option to work remotely from RI, CT, or MA. Candidates must have access to appropriate internet/wi-fi and home workspace (required).
