Role Description A full stack engineering role with technical leadership and architecture ownership at an early-stage SaaS startup – remote across Europe. As an Engineering Lead (80–100%), you’ll take ownership of the technical foundation of our platform and lead a small, high-caliber engineering team (3–6 people), with the opportunity to expand and shape the team as we grow. You’ll be deeply hands-on in the codebase while shaping architecture, scaling systems, and helping steer how our product evolves. You enjoy balancing speed, pragmatism, and engineering quality. This role includes significant technical ownership and long-term upside through our ESOP program. Tasks - Lead the technical development of our SaaS platform - from concept to deployment. - Our stack is a modern Angular frontend paired with a scalable Nx-powered NestJS microservices backend, running on TypeScript end-to-end, with MySQL, Redis/BullMQ for async workloads, and fully containerized via Docker. - Shape and evolve the software architecture to ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability as we grow the company and enter new markets. - Build and inspire a world-class engineering culture. Mentor the development team (3–6 developers), fostering clean code, knowledge sharing, and best practices. - Collaborate closely with product and design to translate user needs into technical solutions. - Coordinate technical priorities with the CTO and founders. - Oversee code reviews, testing, and deployment pipelines. Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in software development, ideally in SaaS, data, or AI-driven platforms. - Strong skills in TypeScript/Angular, Node.js, and cloud-based architectures (Azure or AWS). - Proven experience in leading small engineering teams or mentoring developers. - A structured, pragmatic mindset — you know when to build fast and when to build for the long term. - Excellent communication skills in English; German is a plus. - Based in Europe (hybrid or remote with occasional workshops). Requirements - Interest in architecture, BIM, and sustainability in the built environment. - Several members of our tech team are based in Egypt. Experience collaborating with teams across the MENA region, or familiarity with the culture is a plus.
