Role Description The Financial Project Controller is responsible for overseeing, analyzing, and reporting the financial performance of government contracts, programs, and projects. This position serves as a critical link between project teams, program managers, and corporate finance to ensure billing accuracy, cost compliance, financial forecasting, and timely reporting. The Financial Project Controller will enforce adherence to internal policies as well as Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and other relevant requirements. - Developing and managing project budgets, ensuring close alignment between financial planning and contractual requirements. - Conducting thorough financial analysis and reporting, delivering accurate and timely insights on project performance and variances. - Proactively monitoring project costs to ensure compliance with all applicable government regulations and contract terms. - Detailed forecasting and financial planning to support both ongoing projects and long-term objectives. - Preparing, submitting, and reconciling project billing and revenue, guaranteeing accuracy and adherence to timelines. - Supporting internal and external audits by maintaining detailed documentation and robust compliance practices. - Fostering clear and effective communication with stakeholders, including project managers, corporate finance, clients, and auditors. - Promoting transparency and driving financial process improvements across the organization. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. - 3+ years of relevant experience in government contracting or project finance. - Strong understanding of FAR, CAS, and other government contracting regulatory frameworks. - Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, financial analysis, and forecasting. - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of ERP/financial systems (e.g., Deltek Costpoint, Unanet). - Exceptional attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills. - Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
