Role Overview TiDB is an open-source, cloud-native, distributed SQL database designed for elastic scalability, high availability, and OLTP with  real-time analytics. Built for modern applications, TiDB enables organizations to seamlessly scale their data infrastructure while maintaining strong consistency and robust performance. As a Senior Solutions Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving adoption and success with TiDB. You will work directly with account sales teams, channel partners, and customers to understand their needs, strategize on how to best support them in their evaluation, and ultimately help them choose TiDB as their solution. This role blends deep technical expertise with strong business acumen to help customers achieve their goals while driving growth. Responsibilities Educate prospects and customers on the capabilities and benefits of TiDB, articulating how it addresses business and technical challenges. Share best practices for integrating TiDB with various data sources and applications. Guide customers through the design, deployment, and optimization of TiDB implementations across multiple functional areas of their organization. Lead and execute Proof of Concept (PoC) engagements, demonstrating TiDB’s capabilities in real-world scenarios. Develop and present tailored architectural solutions, best practices, and industry-specific use cases. Provide technical input on RFPs and customer technical requirements. Qualifications 5+ years of experience as a Solutions Engineer, Solutions Architect, Database Administrator, or Software Engineer with a focus on distributed systems, databases, or cloud computing. Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience. Extensive experience in technical sales, pre-sales engineering, or customer-facing technical roles. Strong understanding of clustering technologies, terminology, and architectures. Operating Systems: Proficiency in Linux system administration. Networking: Understanding of network configuration and troubleshooting. Database Management: Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, or comparable technologies. Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in at least one scripting language, such as Python, Golang, or Shell scripting, to automate deployment and management tasks. Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and presentation abilities to convey technical concepts to both technical and executive audiences. Strong problem-solving skills with a passion for customer success. The annual anticipated base salary range for U.S. candidates for this role is USD $106K to $182K. Four zones are applied with different levels of the pay range. More details of the Geo Differential Pay Policy will be discussed during the HR conversation. The actual individual base pay will depend on various factors such as the complexity and responsibility of the role, work locations, job levels, and relevant experience and skills. This role is also eligible to participate in TiDB's Bonus and Equity Plan, as well as our Sales Compensation Plan if it is a sales role. In order to comply with local legislation and provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base salary ranges on all US job postings regardless of desired hiring location. Role Overview TiDB’s sales organization continues to grow and we are actively seeking an Account Executive to join the team. In this position you will play an instrumental role in powering our revenue generation through innovative sales strategies with the aim of acquiring net new logo accounts. This opportunity will allow you to apply your exceptional communication skills, passion for customer service and love of all things data. This is a quota carrying sales position in which you will speak with prospects and customers daily. Responsibilities Segment territory to optimize your pipeline generation effort. Drive market awareness and generate qualified leads in lighthouse accounts. Follow-up promptly and effectively on marketing leads. Forecast, track customer activity in internal systems, update management in a timely fashion to help collectively drive success. Learn what matters to key personas involved in the selection of a new database. Engage clients to seriously consider TiDB while driving discovery and qualification using MEDDIC and working with solution engineers. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in a quota-carrying enterprise sales position at an established open-source technology company or a mature cloud-based solution provider (AWS/Azure/GCP, etc). Willingness to get your hands dirty to prospect, engage clients and help build our sales playbook. A customer-friendly sales professional with a strong ability to accelerate customers timelines and with a track record of building up and winning large opportunities. Experience and willingness to strive in a startup environment with a strong appetite to streamline and simplify work-streams and processes. Bachelor’s degree is required. Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed, which may require meeting people away from their official workplaces until customers open up their offices to visitors again. The annual anticipated base salary range for U.S. candidates for this role is USD $200K to $260K. Four zones are applied with different levels of the pay range.
