Independent Contractor Posting Global Compensation Consultant Engagement Type: Independent Contractor (Hourly / Billable) Engagement Structure: Ongoing, As-Needed Advisory Support Anticipated Duration: Initial 6–12 months, with potential continuation based on organizational needs Location: Remote, with coordination across global time zones Primary Organizational Contact: Chief People Officer Engagement Overview We are a global nonprofit operating across multiple countries seeking a Compensation Consultant (Independent Contractor) to provide ongoing, as-needed advisory support on global compensation programs and practices. This engagement is intended to supplement internal HR capacity by providing specialized compensation expertise on a flexible basis, supporting both planned initiatives and emerging needs. The consultant will deliver discrete analyses, recommendations, and project-based outputs to help strengthen compensation frameworks, ensure internal equity, and align with market practices. This is a non-exclusive, independent contractor engagement, not an employment position. Work will be requested periodically and scoped based on organizational priorities. Scope of Services The consultant will provide advisory and project-based support, which may include: Compensation Program Design & Review - Provide recommendations on salary structures, ranges, and compensation frameworks - Advise on enhancements to compensation programs based on market trends and internal analysis - Provide input into salary review approaches and pay decision frameworks Global Compensation Advisory - Provide guidance on compensation practices across multiple countries - Apply market data (e.g., Birches Group or comparable benchmarks) to inform recommendations - Identify risks, inconsistencies, or gaps in compensation practices Job Evaluation & Leveling Support - Conduct or advise on job evaluations using established methodologies - Provide recommendations on job classification and leveling - Review and suggest updates to job descriptions to support alignment with market data Market Analysis & Benchmarking - Conduct or review compensation benchmarking analyses - Provide written insights to support pay decisions and workforce planning Compensation Policy & Pay Design - Provide input into the development or refinement of compensation policies and guidelines - Advise on alternative pay approaches (e.g., daily rates, project-based compensation) - Support consistency and internal equity across roles and geographies Advisory Support - Serve as a subject matter resource to HR on compensation-related questions as they arise - Provide guidance on specific pay decisions, leveling, and application of compensation frameworks - Offer input into communication materials and tools to support understanding of compensation programs Data & Reporting Support - Review compensation data and provide insights to support decision-making - Develop or refine compensation analyses, reports, or tools as needed Example Deliverables Work will be scoped and requested on an as-needed basis and may include: - Compensation structure and salary range recommendations - Job evaluation summaries and leveling recommendations - Market benchmarking analyses and written insights - Compensation policy or guideline drafts - Pay analysis memos to support specific decisions or scenarios - Recommendations for alternative pay models - Compensation reporting tools or templates Deliverables are expected to be discrete and time-bound, even within an ongoing advisory relationship. Nature of Engagement - Work will be intermittent and demand-driven, rather than continuous or full-time - Assignments will be scoped individually, with agreed deliverables, timelines, and estimated hours - The consultant will determine the method, timing, and approach to completing the work - The consultant may provide services to other clients during the term of this engagement What This Role Is Not To ensure clarity of scope, this engagement does not include: - Ongoing administration of compensation programs or payroll - Ownership of annual compensation cycles or HR operations - Day-to-day employee support or internal HR responsibilities - Supervision of staff or management of internal resources Required Expertise - Demonstrated experience in compensation design, analysis, and advisory work - Experience supporting global or multi-country compensation programs - Strong understanding of compensation structures, benchmarking, and pay practices - Ability to interpret data and provide clear, actionable recommendations - Experience advising HR and leadership stakeholders - Ability to operate independently and deliver high-quality outputs Preferred Qualifications - Experience with international salary survey providers (e.g., Birches Group) - Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations - Relevant certifications (e.g., CCP, SHRM, or similar) Engagement Terms - This is a contract opportunity for an independent service provider and is not an employment position - Services will be performed on a billable hourly basis - The anticipated hourly rate range for this engagement is $125–$175/hour per hour, depending on experience and scope alignment - Work will be requested on an as-needed basis, with no guaranteed minimum hours - The engagement is non-exclusive, and the consultant may provide services to other clients - The consultant is responsible for providing their own tools and work environment
Independent Contractor: HRIS Implementation Advisor (Unit4) Engagement Type: Independent Contractor (Hourly / Billable) Engagement Structure: Project-Based Advisory Support Estimated Duration: 6–12 months (part-time, variable hours based on project needs) Location: Remote, with coordination across time zones Primary Organizational Contact: Chief People Officer Engagement Overview We are a global nonprofit operating across 18 countries and currently implementing a new HRIS as part of a broader ERP transformation. We are seeking an HRIS Implementation Advisor (Contractor) to provide targeted, on-demand advisory support to our internal HR team. This role is intended to complement the work of an external implementation partner and internal business systems leadership by filling gaps in HR process translation, system usability, and implementation readiness. This is a project-based, independent contractor engagement for an experienced HRIS practitioner who can independently assess needs, provide practical recommendations, and support discrete deliverables as requested. Scope of Services The contractor will provide advisory and supplemental support, which may include: - Reviewing HRIS configurations and workflows and providing recommendations to improve alignment with HR processes and best practices - Supporting translation of HR business requirements into system-related inputs for the implementation partner - Identifying gaps, risks, or inconsistencies in HRIS design, data structures, or process flows - Providing guidance on global HR process considerations, including standardization vs. local adaptation - Advising on data setup, data integrity considerations, and reporting needs - Supporting development or refinement of HR-facing documentation and user guidance - Providing input on user adoption, usability, and change readiness from an HR perspective - Participating in periodic working sessions with HR, internal systems staff, and/or external consultants, as needed The contractor will determine the approach and methods used to deliver these services, based on agreed priorities. Example Deliverables Deliverables will be defined on an as-needed basis and may include: - Written recommendations on system configuration or workflow design - Gap analyses comparing HR requirements to current system setup - Feedback memos following system demos or configuration reviews - Draft HR process documentation aligned to system functionality - Input into data structures, fields, and reporting frameworks - Advisory input on training materials or HR user guidance Deliverables are expected to be discrete, time-bound, and advisory in nature, rather than ongoing operational support. What This Role Is Not To ensure clarity of scope, this engagement does not include: - Full ownership of HRIS implementation or project management - Direct system configuration or technical build responsibility (owned by implementation partner) - Ongoing system administration or internal HRIS support - Supervision of staff or management of internal resources Required Expertise - Prior experience supporting or leading HRIS implementations, ideally in global or multi-country environments - Strong understanding of HR processes and how they translate into HRIS design - Ability to assess system configurations and provide practical, actionable recommendations - Experience working alongside external implementation vendors - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Ability to communicate effectively with both HR and technical stakeholders - Demonstrated ability to operate independently and deliver high-quality advisory input Preferred Qualifications - Experience with Unit4 or similar ERP/HRIS platforms - Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations - Background working in complex, multi-country environments Engagement Terms - This is a contract opportunity for an independent service provider and is not an employment position - Services will be performed on a billable hourly basis, with work requested and prioritized as needed - The contractor will determine the method, timing, and means of delivering services, subject to agreed deliverables - Engagement is expected to be part-time and variable, depending on project phase and organizational needs - The contractor may provide services to other clients during the term of this engagement - The contractor is responsible for providing their own tools and work environment, except where access to internal systems is required Compensation This is a billable hourly engagement with an anticipated rate range of $125–$175 per hour.
