Role Description This position will provide services such as life safety code consulting, sprinkler/suppression system design, fire alarm system design, and performance-based fire analysis both locally and nationally. We are flexible with the location of our consulting staff in all US regions. Job Duties - Consulting Functions: - Technical quality control and quality assurance of work performed by engineering/consulting staff on projects. - Design and evaluation of fire suppression systems, fire alarm systems, smoke control systems, fire-rated separations, means of egress, fire/smoke and egress modeling, and other fire life safety features in buildings and facilities. - Classification of buildings and evaluation of hazardous operations and materials. - Building code consulting and fire code consulting for the construction industry to work with and support our Summit Companies installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance teams. - Report writing and documentation. - On-site inspections and observations. - Project and Growth Functions: - Prepare and manage project budgets and scope, achieving planned gross margins and EBITDA. - Generate project revenue for three engineers/consultants from new client development, new project generation, and existing client development. - Manage resources and staff on individual projects, including assistance with job set-up, monitoring of profitability and billings. - Establish relationships with the authorities having jurisdiction to assist our customers in presenting fire protection approaches to the authorities and achieving the desired results. - Participation in business development activities including development and tracking proposals. - Present Company qualifications to new and existing customers, with the intent of establishing clientele in the selected markets. - Participate in the growth of new and existing clientele. - Collaborate with Summit Fire National Consulting team on larger projects and national accounts. - Assist Summit fire protection contracting business by performing analyses, calculations, code and standard reviews, and other functions in support of design/build opportunities. - Attend regional conferences to promote the capabilities of the Summit Companies, including the preparation and presentation of selected papers and speeches at these conferences. - Participation in industry and professional organizations. - Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications - Bachelor of science or associate’s degree in fire science or related technical fields or NICET Level III or IV Certification. - 15+ years fire protection consulting experience including code consulting, design of systems, and fire hazard analysis, strongly preferred. - Demonstrates expertise in professional service or branch management processes, including the preparation and management of project budgets and fire protection system cost estimates. - Possesses extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of NFPA Codes and Standards, the International Building Code, and applicable local and state codes for the office location and states of practice. Requirements - Must have the ability to effectively read, write, and communicate in English with employees, customers, and board of directors. - Ability to operate a computer and use Microsoft Office, required. - Experience with hydraulic calculations, fire and smoke simulation, egress and pedestrian movement models, or suppression system design programs, preferred. - Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or REVIT experience, preferred. - Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required. - Must be able to comply with SFNC’s Drug and Alcohol Policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer-specific requirements based on contractual agreement. Role Description The National Accounts Coordinator is responsible for being the primary interface with the National Account customers, under the direction of National Accounts Team Lead. - Act as the primary interface with national account customers. - Attend and prepare for weekly meetings with Account Coordinator Lead. - Participate in training designed to improve industry knowledge and overall skills required of the position. - Lead the on-boarding process for a new national account customer. - Audit and validate that national account customer administrative needs are being met. - Assist in scheduling and assigning work orders and service requests to appropriate office and or partner. Follow up to make sure work is completed in a timely manner to customers’ satisfaction. - Assist in processing invoices to customers and assist the district Service Administrators in following-up on service requests for national account customers. - Review and follow up on additional repair quotes and proposals. - Maintain the internal tracking system and any third party system utilized by the national account customer. - Work directly with service office to make sure national account customers questions are being answered. - Support the sales efforts of the national account managers. - Other duties may be assigned.
