Role Description Join our Grid Access Maintenance and Warranty team as an Operational Technician, where you will play a vital role in supporting projects and customer sites across the UK, both onshore and offshore. As part of our Transmission Service Business, you will contribute to maintaining high voltage substations, HVDC interconnectors, and wind farm grid connections, ensuring the reliability and availability of energy supply for our esteemed clients. - Ensure compliance with work specifications, local management instructions, statutory requirements, and health & safety regulations. - Plan, develop, and execute maintenance and warranty works for all plant and equipment within the contract scope. - Carry out maintenance and repairs on substations and power stations across the country. - Install new equipment and follow a rigid testing process to ensure quality. - Prepare suitable risk and method statements before work commences. - Investigate and rectify faults, preparing reports to meet QA and customer requirements. - Interpret test and inspection reports and initiate appropriate actions. - Complete and upload all maintenance documentation on the Maintenance Management System as per procedures. - Ensure all work meets satisfactory quality and technical standards. - Participate in training to enhance your skills as necessary. Qualifications - Knowledge of HV apparatus with experience in maintenance, craftsman or fault rectification activities on HV and LV apparatus in a service environment. - Highly Favourable: HV substation, AIS, GIS switchgear or transformer experience. - Good understanding of HV safety rules. - Working knowledge of quality and asset management systems. - Excellent IT skills, proficient with Microsoft 365 products. - Organised, practical, and logical approach to work. - Effective communication skills, both written and oral, at all organisational levels, with the ability to engage with customers and suppliers. - Flexibility to travel between various sites across the UK and Ireland working in both onshore and offshore environments as required. - Fluent in written and spoken English. - Clean Drivers licence.
