SC&A is looking for applicants who have an undergrad degree or are in their last few semesters in pursuit of an undergrad degree to join our team as a summer intern.Position Summary Successful applicants will be strong critical thinkers, have excellent communications and technical writing skills, and have the equipment and reliable internet required to work remotely with minimal supervision. This internship will focus on regulatory support work including a variety of technical and engineering-related content reviews, summarizations, and record organization. May include technical writing, virtual attendance in internal and client meetings, records keeping, records reviews, comment moderation, and administrative support for environmental rulemaking efforts. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone wanting to explore career opportunities involving environmental contracting, environmental rulemaking, and environmental regulations.Qualifications - Must be an undergraduate student enrolled full-time in an accredited degree-seeking program or a recent graduate with an undergraduate degree from the same - Must be able to show sustained excellence in academic performance on academic transcript - Due to the nature of the majority of SC&A's work being based in Federal contract support, successful applicants must be U.S. citizens and must be able to pass a basic background check This internship is part-time to full-time and applicants can expect 20-40 hours/week for the summer term. SC&A is looking for applicants who have experience with environmental remediation, water and wastewater system evaluation, environmental assessments, and regulatory compliance to join our team.Position Summary Make a difference from day one. SC&A is seeking an experienced, licensed engineer who is ready to apply technical skills to projects that improve drinking water systems, optimize wastewater treatment operations, and support infrastructure that matters to communities. This is a field-oriented engineering role where you’ll apply your engineering experience to hands-on projects involving design, analysis, and regulatory compliance activities. If you value purpose-driven work, continuous learning, and solving practical engineering problems, please consider applying!Key Responsibilities - Lead and support investigations, infrastructure assessments, and environmental remediation projects both on site and from your remote/work-from-home office - Conduct engineering analyses related to water, wastewater, stormwater, and environmental systems - Conduct field data collection, system inspections, sampling, and testing - Prepare and review technical reports, design documents, and regulatory submittals - Support remedial design and implementation activities under RCRA, CERCLA, and related regulatory frameworks - Coordinate with project teams, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders - Perform field oversight, data collection, and contractor/subcontractor coordination as needed - Work collaboratively on multi-disciplinary project teams both in the field and in remote/work-from-home settings Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or related engineering discipline from an accredited institution - Professional Engineer (PE) license - Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience (including internships, co-ops, or related project experience) in environmental consulting, infrastructure projects, remediation, or water/wastewater systems - Demonstrated experience preparing engineering calculations and technical reports - Working knowledge of environmental regulations, including RCRA and CERCLA, preferred - Experience with water, wastewater, stormwater, and/or environmental system evaluation and design - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project coordination skills - Willingness to perform fieldwork and travel to project sites as required The salary range for this position is $90,000-$150,000, DOE/DOQ.
