Role Description This role will work from home and can be located in any of the 21 states in the United States where Rise Against Hunger currently operates. The Based Development Manager is responsible for driving new business growth through both direct revenue contribution and team leadership, with a specific focus on pipeline development, outbound performance, and operational efficiency. This role leads the Market Development team in executing a structured sales model that balances inbound conversion with outbound pipeline generation. The manager is accountable for: - Improving pipeline mix - Increasing contribution from controllable revenue generation tactics (i.e. outbound) - Ensuring consistent execution against defined activity and performance expectations In addition to managing a team of Market Development Managers, this role contributes directly to revenue generation in cold-heavy markets and serves as the primary driver of outbound tactical development, testing, and performance optimization. The role is also responsible for ensuring new business conversion is led with impact, prioritizing the development of mission-aligned partnerships that support long-term engagement and meaningful outcomes alongside revenue growth. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience - 4+ years of sales or fundraising experience, with a strong focus on new business development - 2+ years of team leadership experience - Proven success in outbound (cold) pipeline development and revenue generation - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into action - Experience managing pipeline, conversion metrics, and sales performance Requirements - 50% Donor Data Management & Analytics - Lead, coach and develop a Market Development Team responsible for achieving organizational new business revenue targets, with individual portfolios averaging approximately $600K per team member annually - Establish performance expectations, pipeline management standards, and sales accountability measures across the team, including: - Prospecting and outbound activity benchmarks - Pipeline health and forecasting accuracy - Conversion performance and deal progression - Strategic portfolio and market management - Provide ongoing leadership through regular 1:1s, coaching performance check-ins and professional development planning focused on strengthening discovery, qualification, negotiation and closing of fundraising opportunities. - Oversee team pipeline management and revenue forecasting to ensure sustainable growth and balanced pipeline development across inbound and outbound channels. - Partner cross-functionally with marketing, operations, volunteer engagement, and mission-facing teams to strengthen partnership conversion strategies and maximize long-term donor and corporate engagement opportunities. - Drive operational consistency and continuous improvement across prospecting, reporting, CRM utilization, and new business development processes. - 30% New Business Strategy, Pipeline Development & Market Expansion - Lead the development and execution of the organization’s new business prospecting strategy, with a focus on expanding outbound pipeline performance and increasing market penetration. - Identify and evaluate high-growth industries, enterprise partnership opportunities, and emerging market segments to strengthen long-term revenue diversification. - Develop and implement strategic outbound engagement plans designed to increase cold pipeline contribution from approximately 19% to 25–30% of total new business revenue over time. - Oversee team performance metrics and business development analytics, including: - Meeting generation and conversion trends - Pipeline velocity and close rates - Revenue forecasting - Market and campaign performance analysis - Lead ongoing optimization of outreach strategies, prospect qualification models, messaging, and engagement tactics to improve efficiency, conversion, and revenue growth. - Provide leadership in identifying scalable systems, tools, and processes that support organizational growth objectives and improve new business acquisition performance. - 20% Funding Support - Personally manage and cultivate a portfolio of strategic new business opportunities, particularly within emerging or underdeveloped markets requiring proactive outbound engagement. - Personally secure and close high-value partnership opportunities while modeling best practices in relationship management, strategic prospecting, and enterprise-level partnership development. - Execute outbound prospecting and partnership development in assigned markets - Contribute directly to annual revenue goals through targeted business development efforts, with an anticipated portfolio contribution of approximately $150K–$200K annually, dependent on market maturity and strategic assignments. - Perform other duties as assigned or become necessary by supervisor.
