Qualifications - You have 3+ years of experience using Java language with experience in Object-Oriented programming. - You can write clean, high-quality code in a variety of languages and are also able to spot (and improve) bad code. - You bring an open and thoughtful mindset toward AI, proactively integrating AI-assisted tools and methods into technical workflows to boost productivity and explore innovative solutions. - You are familiar with Agile, Lean and/or Continuous Delivery. - You have a good awareness of TDD, continuous integration and continuous delivery approaches/tools. - Bonus points if you have knowledge of cloud technology such as AWS, Docker or Kubernetes. Role Description Woven between all the stages of the delivery process is the work of a Quality Analyst: the technologist who focuses on the complexity and risk inherent in building solutions. By collaborating with each team member—Developer, Business Analyst, Designer, etc.—they ensure quality is thoughtfully examined in both processes and technology. QAs are more than testers; they're team motivators and strive to inspire all teammates to weave quality into their mindsets and code. - Participate at each stage of the software development cycle from ideation to going live to customers to ensure quality is integrated into solutions. - Understand how software deployments and releases to downstream environments on cloud infrastructures can impact product quality. - Test the product from the perspective of the user. - Create a reliable automated testing suite for fast feedback through continuous integration pipelines with the team. - Test cross-functional requirements such as performance and security. - Coach the client's team and encourage them to adopt a quality mindset. - Regularly carry out exploratory testing to gain insights and uncover potential risks; play back these risks to the relevant stakeholders. - Advocate for the value of clean code and test code refactoring. Qualifications - Worked as a Quality Analyst as part of a wider development team, pairing with Devs, Business Analysts, Infrastructure Engineers, and Designers to embed quality and testing mindsets within different roles. - Familiar with Agile practices, code management, deployment strategies, and release management. - Good understanding of engineering practices such as TDD, BDD, CI/CD and models such as the Test Pyramid and Swiss Cheese models. - Aware of concepts of test data management for features and their dependencies. - Can work on different types of functional and cross-functional testing. - Exposure to and experience with using defect tracking and management tools.
