ROLE PURPOSE The Sales Development Representative will directly impact Ready Education's mission of helping students succeed by bringing more institutions onto the platform through strategic prospecting, lead qualification, and discovery efforts. This role serves as the critical first point of contact with higher education decision makers, generating pipeline for the sales team by identifying, engaging, and qualifying institutions that are aligned with Ready Education's solutions. You will work in close partnership with Account Executives to drive new business growth across an assigned territory. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES - Qualify inbound and outbound leads to generate new opportunities and pipeline for the sales team - Conduct outbound prospecting via phone, email, and other channels to engage and qualify potential clients - Lead meaningful and engaging discovery conversations to understand prospect goals, challenges, and needs related to student success, retention, and engagement - Conduct thorough discovery to identify potential needs and schedule qualified meetings for Account Executives - Perform market research on assigned territory to contribute to a strategic sales approach - Collaborate with Sales and Marketing team members on strategic account-based selling initiatives - Ensure accurate and timely documentation of activity, lead qualification, and lifecycle stages in HubSpot CRM - Follow up consistently and thoughtfully on inbound marketing leads, providing the right level of information at the right time for interested prospects ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE Required - 1-3 years of professional experience in sales, customer-facing, or higher education role - Curious and self-directed with strong attention to detail and time management skills, thriving in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with the ability to juggle competing priorities and adapt quickly to new requirements - Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to lead confident, engaging conversations with senior leaders and decision makers - Experience working within a CRM environment, preferably HubSpot - Comfortable with high-volume outbound prospecting via phone and email - Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Sales and Marketing to execute strategic territory plans - Travel 10-20% of the time to build and strengthen client relationships through in-person engagements, user group events, industry conferences, and tradeshows Nice to Have - Experience in higher education, EdTech, or software sales - Familiarity with the sales lifecycle in higher education - Experience in B2B and B2B2C SaaS environments - Understanding of student engagement platforms or campus technology solutions WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US - A chance to work towards an amazing mission of helping students succeed as a team member of a global tech startup - Remote-first work environment: Ability to work from anywhere in North America with flexible hours - Generous paid vacation time - A chance to travel while working remotely - Continuous learning and growth culture with many opportunities to develop professionally - Health Benefits including health, dental, vision, company funded life & disability insurance and identity protection - Participation in matching 401K plan - Home Office Set up support with a company laptop & equipment Although this role is 100% remote, the person in this position should be expected to travel for certain client / industry / company events and engagements as necessary. Role Overview The Account Executive will serve as a key driver of new business growth, acting as the first point of contact for prospective institutions. The ideal candidate takes a consultative, solution-focused approach and can develop a deep understanding of prospective institutions, including their enrollment, financial, and student success objectives. This role requires persistence, curiosity, and the ability to consistently generate and close new opportunities. Key Responsibilities Prospecting & Pipeline Development - Drive outbound prospecting efforts through phone, email, events, and social channels - Develop and execute targeted account strategies to generate new opportunities - Maintain a highly organized and accurate sales pipeline within the CRM Sales Execution - Manage the full sales cycle from discovery through proposal, negotiation, and close - Conduct consultative discovery conversations with multiple stakeholders - Present tailored solutions aligned with institutional priorities Collaboration - Partner with Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and Customer Experience teams - Share market insights and customer feedback to influence product and go-to-market strategies Operational Discipline - Maintain pipeline visibility and forecasting accuracy - Execute repeatable sales processes to support scalable growth Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in SaaS sales, account executive, or business development roles - Proven success prospecting and closing new business - Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles - Track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas - Professional experience working in or supporting the U.S. higher education market. - Experience selling into higher education institutions (preferred but not required) - Established relationships with enrollment management, financial aid, or student affairs leaders (preferred but not required) Core Competencies - Strong discovery and consultative selling skills - Excellent written and verbal communication - Strategic problem-solving and solution-based thinking - Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams - High resilience, ownership mindset, and growth orientation Location United States (Remote) Department Sales Employment Type Full-Time Minimum Experience Experienced Compensation $85,000 + Commission
