Role Description To strengthen the activities of our US subsidiary established in 2022, in Portland, ME, we are looking for a strategic leader to accelerate our expansion in this critical market. As the Director/Senior Manager – Sales and Capital Project Development for North America, you will be the primary driver for our commercial expansion in the region. Your role goes beyond equipment sales; you will support clients in the full project development cycle: - High-level market development and lead origination - Navigating project financing and risk management - Negotiating complex contracts - Guiding clients through project design and site integration Your objective is to establish PYREG as the leading biochar/biocarbon technology provider in the US and Canada by delivering both our core machinery and the professional advisory services required to bring complex, bankable carbonization projects to life. Location: This is a remote-first role, based in North America (East Coast time zone preferred), with working hours designed to remain in line with Central European Time (CET). Travel: Willingness to travel to project sites, primarily within North America (up to 25% of your working time). Qualifications - Extensive experience in senior or executive sales and project development roles within the industrial machinery, renewable energy, or environmental technology sectors, preferably within the waste management sector. - Proven track record in capital project development, preferably within waste management, waste-to-energy, renewable energy, or carbon markets. - Demonstrated success in building market presence for international companies within the North American landscape. - Skilled at navigating complex, long-cycle industrial sales involving multiple stakeholders. - Strong understanding of project financing, including the ability to consult on the financial metrics (CAPEX, OPEX, IRR, NPV), and risk management of large-scale operations. - Ability to consult on complex industrial operations, including thermal processes and waste-to-energy systems. - A commitment to engineering a sustainable tomorrow and achieving global decarbonization targets. Requirements - Understanding of the biochar industry, including technical, environmental, and agricultural applications. - Understanding of the voluntary carbon market and the financial drivers of Biochar Carbon Removal (BCR) credits.
