Role Description Playfly Sports is looking for a Manager, Corporate Partnerships to join our team at Penn State University. The candidate must be driven and coachable to execute the Playfly Sports Properties revenue model and to understand the distinctive relationship with the university athletics. This role will work with the VP of Corporate Partnerships to pitch and close enterprise partnership agreements and generate incremental sponsorship revenue to meet and exceed individual and team goals. - Assist in developing and executing a sales plan - Identify potential sponsors for the university sports property through networking with university stakeholders and business partners, researching local, regional, and national companies - Work with Playfly Sports Properties and the university sports property VP of Corporate Partnerships to create sales inventory, revenue projections, and overall sponsorship strategy for the university athletics assets - Develop sales presentations for new marketing partners by incorporating research, category dynamics, and a clear understanding of partner’s marketing goals - Create sales proposals and draft/negotiate contracts - Develop key marketing objectives with clients via thorough needs assessment and a collaborative sales process - Entertain and cultivate sponsors in non-game related settings - Prepare end-of-year recaps for sponsors - Represent the university sports property, the university, and Playfly Sports Properties in a professional manner - Research sports sponsorship industry and stay current with relevant market trends and conditions - Understand and leverage Playfly business units in order to leverage new business areas, leads, and categories - Prospect, meet, and close new and renewal corporate sponsorships - Other job-related duties as assigned Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree required - 5 years of direct sales experience in sponsorship sales/corporate partnerships within collegiate or professional sports - Experience with integrated and “conceptual” sales - Ability to generate and present ideas/concepts succinctly and provide creative solutions to prospects/clients - Outstanding communication skills are essential for interactions with clients, operational leaders, and other senior executives - Demonstrated professional sales presentation skills Requirements - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. - Ability to sit, stand, and walk-up stairs - This role takes place in an office setting and is a sedentary role - Be available for game days and evening athletic events and coaches shows - Be available to travel for client presentations - Frequent travel Company Description Playfly Sports is the full-service, leading sports marketing and media company that enables brands to engage with sports fans on a local, regional, and national level through scaled linear, digital, and experiential assets. Role Description The Sr. Director, National Partnership Management will act as the main point of contact for clients that have partnered with Playfly Sports Properties at the National level. This role will be responsible for client contract fulfillment, cultivating positive client relationships, partnership growth and renewal, and upsell strategy development. - Manage daily operations of the National Partnership Management team. - Provide regular updates to leadership on key account updates. - Work with Vice President, National Sales to establish a new process and structure for upselling and renewals on the Partnership Management team. - Manage, coach, and develop a team focused on partnership management within the National Sales team. - Maintain primary ownership of National accounts from contract execution and activation to communicating with clients alongside our National Sales team on a daily basis. - Act as the lead activation liaison for key accounts across Playfly’s collegiate and high school properties, identifying and developing strategic opportunities with brand partners to drive incremental revenue growth. - Meet with clients to assist with developing key marketing objectives in alignment with contract obligations alongside the National Sales team. - Track all contract inventory, build and deliver mid-year and end of year client recaps. - Lead the development of client recaps and proof of performance as needed. - Other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree required. - Minimum 10+ years experience in one of the following disciplines: partnership marketing, sponsorship sales/activation, or brand strategy. - Experience in Team/Property Sponsorship and/or College Athletics is required. - Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines with quick response/turnaround. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Strong ability in dealing with all levels of management. - Must be a strategic thinker and possess a team-first mindset. - Excellent project management skills; extremely organized and able to multitask and juggle many priorities. - Ability to work independently and collaborate across different geographic locations and time zones with clients and internal stakeholders. - Entertain and cultivate clients in various settings. - Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM)/KORE/Salesforce/Revenue Generation and Tracking systems. - Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting. This role will assist in managing the day-to-day operations of conference Sports Properties and ensuring contract deliverables are met. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree required - Three years of direct sales experience in the sports multi-media environment or equivalent field preferred - Experience with integrated and “conceptual” sales - Ability to generate and present ideas/concepts succinctly and provide creative solutions to prospects/clients - Must possess organizational skills, specifically relating to managing contract fulfillment and contract proof of performance requirements - Ability to be a self-starter - Outstanding communication skills are essential for interactions with clients, operational leaders and other senior executives - Ability to demonstrate professional sales presentation skills - Proficient in Microsoft Office, Power Point - Understanding of KORE sales program or similar systems preferred Requirements - Assist with the development and execution of sales plans to meet and/or exceed assigned annual revenue targets - Identify potential sponsors for the conference Sports Properties through networking with local business partners, researching local, regional and national companies - Prospect, meet and close new and renewal of high-level corporate sponsorships - Develop compelling sales presentations for new marketing partners by incorporating research, category dynamics and a clear understanding of partner’s marketing goals - Create sales proposals and draft/negotiate contracts - Research the sports sponsorship industry and stay current with relevant market trends and conditions - Execute on contract fulfillment and deliverables, including gameday operations and on-site activation - Manage all media/production components for the university’s Sports Radio Network - Fulfill benefits per corporate partner agreements and develop relationships between partners and conference - Work with the General Manager in creating, planning and implementing conference Sports Properties and Playfly Sports Properties special events - Obtain and manage all necessary proof of performance records - Manage administrative tasks related to day-to-day office operations - Represent conference Sports Properties and Playfly Sports Properties in a professional manner - Entertain and cultivate sponsors in non-game day related events - Understand and leverage Playfly business units in order to leverage new business areas, leads, and categories - Provide dynamic integrated partnership packages with a focus on digital and mobile sales - Other job-related duties as assigned Benefits - Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. - The base pay range for this role is: $75,000 — $80,000 USD
