Role Description As our Certified O&M Specialist and TVI, you will provide orientation and mobility instructional services for blind, visually impaired or multiple disability students. You will train visually impaired students to make maximum safe travel and develop functional independence in a variety of environments, while serving as a member of an interdisciplinary team to provide individual educational and pre-vocational programs for students. - Assesses individual needs of each student in all areas of independent daily living to establish realistic and appropriate goals and objectives. - Designs and implements programs for each student’s individual education plan (IEP). - Evaluates and reports on the progress of each student, attends scheduled staff meetings and IEPs, and confers effectively with parents. - Assists each student to develop his or her maximum safe travel potential, and develop functional independence in a variety of environments. - Serves as a member of a team in establishing realistic goals and objectives for each student; develops and implements programs and communicates results with the team to ensure continuity of appropriate program services. - Maintains suitable learning environment, including appropriate planning and organizational techniques; consults with appropriate support staff. - Prepares written functional vision assessments when appropriate. - Performs other related duties and tasks as assigned. Qualifications - Bachelors’ degree. - ACVREP Certification as an Orientation and Mobility Instructor. - Ability to complete and maintain First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and Crisis Prevention and Physical Intervention (CPPI) Certifications. Requirements - Preference may be given to candidates with a Master’s degree. - Two years’ experience as a TVI teaching students with visual impairments who may also have additional disabilities. - Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive school vehicles including chair cars. Prospective employees ideally would be located in the Seattle area, although remote locations are possible. As a Designer II on the team, you will: - Use enhanced knowledge of project complexity to proactively contribute to the overall success of the team by adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in design, execution, and living design. - Assist in generating creative and innovative design ideas, concepts, and solutions while participating as an integral member of the design team. - Generate drawings under supervision for schematic design, design development, and construction documents. - Perform product research and assists team with material selections. - Exercise critical and creative judgement and design application skills in preparing client presentation materials. - Use a creative approach to complete tasks and responsibilities on projects, within the scope of schedule and budget, in an organized, timely, and consistent way. - Self-check work for accuracy, omissions, legibility, and for document compliance in accordance with the Project Delivery Manual. - Express curiosity about the world of design and the industry at large. - Take increasing ownership of tasks within project teams and studio activities. - Participate in design reviews, charettes, and pin-ups. - Keep open communication within team and with designated team leader. - Communicate ideas and thoughts in a way that inspires others. - Coordinate effectively with partners and consultants.
