Role Description As a Founder's Associate / Business Development Intern, you act as a force multiplier for the founders across strategy, market intelligence, fundraising, and operations. - Strategy & Market: - Analyse the xerostomia/oral care market across key segments (oncology, geriatrics, dental, OTC, self-pay) in DACH and internationally. - Map competitors and adjacent solutions—value propositions, claims, pricing, channels, geography, clinical evidence. - Translate insights into clear strategic recommendations for Balmo. - Go-to-Market & Internationalisation: - Support the development of our launch strategy: indications, priority markets, and channels. - Build and maintain a structured pipeline of clinics, cancer centres, dentists, pharmacies, and distribution partners. - Prepare materials for clinical and commercial stakeholders (one-pagers, pitch decks, follow-up materials). - Business Model & Pricing: - Research pricing benchmarks across clinics, pharmacies, online channels, and international markets. - Analyse reimbursement and market access pathways (e.g., statutory vs. private insurance, hospital billing, self-pay). - Support the development and stress-testing of Balmo’s revenue model, unit economics, and commercial scenarios. - Fundraising & Investor Relations: - Build and refine an investor longlist (VCs, family offices, strategics) with a strong MedTech fit. - Contribute to the pitch deck and data room (market analyses, traction, roadmap, financials). - Assist in due diligence, term sheet analysis, cap table work, and benchmarking market terms. - (Depending on your strengths, you may also support ad-hoc projects in operations and the value chain, e.g., manufacturing, packaging, logistics.) Qualifications - You are a high-performing student in Business/Management, Economics, Health Economics, Life Sciences, Medicine, Pharmacy, or a related field. - Strong analytical skills and structured thinking; confident with numbers and Excel/Sheets. - Very good PowerPoint and Excel skills, with the ability to turn analysis into crisp presentations. - Curious, confident, and thoughtful in using AI tools to accelerate your work. - Fluent in English; German is a strong plus. - Ideally, first experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, venture capital, a startup, or a student initiative. - Proactive, hands-on mindset with ownership, flexibility, drive, and the ability to give constructive pushback and think outside of the box. - Genuine interest in health, science, or MedTech and motivated to create visible impact for patients.
