We are currently looking for a Cloud Systems Engineer to come and join us in Europe as part of our new team developing the next generation management platform for the Cloud-Edge Computing Continuum. Job Description Cloud Systems Engineers are responsible for the deployment and support of large edge and cloud-based use cases, pilot and POC systems and services. They work on complicated technical issues, resolving them promptly and efficiently. Their responsibilities include communicating with users, addressing their needs, troubleshooting, and providing step by step solutions. Responsibilities - Designing, integrating, deploying, and maintaining large cloud-based solutions, systems and services - Ensuring efficient functioning of cloud functions in accordance with best practices - Interacting with users and use cases, providing systems support, system architecture definition, making recommendations based on user needs, implementation, testing, user training, and deployment of open source solutions - Troubleshooting incidents, identify root causes, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures - Monitoring installed systems and infrastructure.Monitoring and troubleshooting the performance and issues of the cloud system, and updating and maintaining the cloud system - Delivering quality performance indicators within the scope of the assigned project, including project journals, status reports, and other standard documentation - Working with other companies in the cloud-edge ecosystem within international projects and open-source communities. Availability to occasional travel and participation in international events and meetings - Working with the development teams in the escalation of support issues, the use cases and solutions team in discovery and demo sessions, and the community team in contributions to the open-source community - Writing and maintaining software documentation and project reports Experience required Academic Background and Certifications - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Professional Experience - Hands-on experience in cloud systems integration and support using open-source technologies - Experience with Cloud Management platforms and their associated technologies. Understand the implication of managing virtualized infrastructures and the orchestration of the underlying subsystems Technical Experience - Experience in developing and maintaining Ruby code base for system applications with knowledge of computing systems integration and the interaction with the operating system facilities like I/O, networking and virtualization - Experience integrating computing systems specially related to virtualization, storage and networking. Knowledge of KVM/QEMU virtualization, including qcow2 and management of Virtual Machines; storage systems (usage and administration) NAS and SAN, specially for storing VM disk images; and Linux networking stack including VLAN protocols, package filtering, basic routing protocols, Open vSwitch, and DPDK - Experience writing Terraform modules and managing deployments of virtualized infrastructures with Terraform - Experience deploying and using monitoring and alerting tools like Prometheus. Design monitoring metrics and associated data structure. Elaborate and analyze usage reports obtained from the monitor data Language Skills - English fluency at a professional or native-equivalent level, with excellent clarity and expression in both writing and speech. Role Description We are seeking an Account Executive with strong communication skills and a solid technical understanding of cloud infrastructure to support OpenNebula’s growth. This role owns and drives the end-to-end sales cycle, from initial qualification through solution definition, proofs of concept, and customer evaluations. As the primary commercial owner of assigned accounts, you will work closely with Presales and Technical teams, acting as a trusted partner to customers and prospects. You will help translate business requirements into clear, feasible solutions, ensuring alignment between customer needs and OpenNebula’s capabilities. The role requires customer-facing confidence, strong coordination across Sales, Product, Engineering, and Marketing, and the ability to balance commercial objectives with technical credibility to drive successful adoption of OpenNebula solutions. Responsibilities - Own and drive the sales process end to end, from opportunity qualification through customer evaluation, commercial negotiation, and deal closure. - Lead customer engagements and act as the primary commercial and technical point of contact for prospects, customers, and strategic partners. - Represent OpenNebula in high-level technical and business discussions with customers and at selected industry events. - Lead solution positioning and value articulation, aligning OpenNebula’s capabilities with customer business objectives and operational requirements. - Drive discovery sessions with prospects, partners, and customers to understand their current cloud platforms, challenges, and long-term goals. - Qualify business alignment and technical fit between customer needs and OpenNebula products and services. - Define PoC objectives and success criteria, supervising execution in collaboration with Presales Engineers. - Act as the primary interface between customers and internal teams (Product, Engineering, Marketing), ensuring alignment and feedback flow. - Maintain awareness of market trends, competitive positioning, and customer buying drivers in the cloud and open-source infrastructure space. - Develop and grow long-term relationships with key and strategic customer accounts, supporting adoption, expansion, and retention. Qualifications - Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or engineering. - 3+ years of Experience as a Sales Engineer, Systems Engineer, Presales Engineer or similar role. - 3+ years overall IT/cloud Background. - Experience responding to RFP’s and RFI’s & managing POCs. - Experience working with global customers. - Advanced administration of Linux environments: RHEL/AlmaLinux, Ubuntu/Debian. - Experience using virtualization technologies such as KVM, LXC, libvirt/QEMU and/or VMware. - Demonstrated technical writing skills. - Experience working with other cloud management platforms is strongly preferred. - Experience in AI from an IaaS perspective in relation to use cases, GPUs, etc would be very advantageous. - English fluency at a professional or native-equivalent level, with excellent clarity and expression in both writing and speech. - Strong customer service mindset, with a focus on responsiveness and user satisfaction. - Clear communication and documentation with strong written and verbal English, async collaboration, and visibility of work. - Self-management and accountability with ability to work independently, manage time, and take ownership of tasks and deadlines. - Technical autonomy and tool proficiency with confidence in using Git, CI/CD, remote collaboration tools (Slack, Zoom, GitHub, etc.), and solving problems without direct supervision. Job Description We are looking for a Presales Engineer to support the sales cycle from a technical perspective, working closely with Technical Sales Engineers and the Sales team. This role focuses on technical execution and support during presales activities, including demos, evaluations, PoCs, and RFP responses. The Presales Engineer helps ensure that proposed solutions are technically sound, reproducible, and aligned with OpenNebula’s product capabilities. This position is ideal for someone with a strong technical background in cloud infrastructure who enjoys hands-on work, structured problem-solving, and collaborating closely with engineering and sales teams, without owning the full customer relationship. Responsibilities - Support presales engagements by preparing and executing technical demonstrations, use cases, and solution validations. - Contribute detailed technical input to RFQs, RFPs, and RFIs under the guidance of the Account Executive. - Participate in technical discovery sessions to understand customer infrastructure, requirements, and constraints. - Set up, execute, and document Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and technical evaluations, ensuring repeatability and clarity of results. - Validate solution feasibility and identify technical risks, limitations, or dependencies early in the sales cycle. - Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to clarify requirements, validate configurations, and reproduce technical issues when needed. - Maintain and improve technical documentation related to presales environments, demos, PoCs, and reference setups. - Stay current with OpenNebula releases, features, roadmap direction, and relevant open-source and infrastructure ecosystem developments.
