Role Description We are looking for a Chief Product & Technology Officer to lead Nira’s Product, Engineering, and Transmission Planning organization. The CPTO will own Nira’s product roadmap and execution, manage a VP of Engineering, a VP of Transmission Planning, and our individual Product Leads. Ultimately this role will be responsible for building the function that helps the company scale product development with speed and quality from end to end. This is not a classic CTO role and not a pure CPO role. The ideal candidate is a technical product operator: someone who can learn a complex domain, translate customer and market insight into product strategy, and drive cross-functional teams to ship mission critical software. - Development of product roadmap and execution across Product, Engineering, and Transmission Planning - Translation of customer, market, and founder insight into product strategy, priorities, and execution plans - Building the operating cadence for product development: roadmap planning, product reviews, execution reviews, and customer feedback loops - Management and coaching of Product Leads, VP Engineering, and VP Transmission Planning - Cross-functional decision-making across customer value, technical feasibility, domain correctness, speed, and business impact - Product quality, usability, reliability, and customer impact Qualifications - Senior product or technical leadership experience in complex B2B software - Strong product judgment and track record of execution: you can turn ambiguity into plans, owners, milestones, and shipped product - Ability to quickly learn a highly niche / complex domain - Experience managing product teams, engineering teams, or cross-functional technical teams - Excellent communication and people leadership skills - Comfort partnering closely with founders while progressively taking ownership of product strategy and roadmap Ideal backgrounds - VP Product / CPO at a technical B2B SaaS company - GM of a complex technical product line - Product leader who has managed a team or product function end to end - Former technical or product founder who scaled into executive leadership - Bonus points for experience in energy, grid infrastructure, climate, utilities, transmission, interconnection, or power markets
• Prospect and engage utility organizations to initiate discussions about how Nira can benefit their transmission planning and grid analysis workflows. • Lead conversations with utility stakeholders to uncover business needs, present Nira solutions, and define meaningful next steps to maintain momentum. • Employ effective business development tactics to shorten long sales cycles. • Develop and present measurable business cases and ROI scenarios for utility partners. • Build and manage multi-stakeholder relationships with utility leaders across departments (e.g., Transmission Planning, IT, Legal, Commercial). • Develop and validate proof-of-concept (POC) programs to demonstrate Nira automation capabilities to utility leaders. • Create tailored solutions based on customer needs and facilitate complex discussions with technical and non-technical buyers. • Address objections and demonstrate Nira’s value through compelling use cases and demonstrations. • Own the end-to-end sales cycle: prospect, qualify, demo, negotiate, and close. • Develop clear proposals and statements of work (SOWs) that articulate objectives, functionality, KPIs, and next steps.
• Drive new business from renewable energy developers to achieve a $2M annual quota. • Own the full sales cycle—prospect, qualify, demo, negotiate, and close. • Research and target renewable energy developers using a strategic and data-driven approach • Engage with Transmission, Interconnection, and Development teams to understand their pain points • Educate prospects on how Nira can de-risk and accelerate their project development • Partner with internal teams (Product, Engineering, Data) to relay customer insights and refine messaging • Track pipeline activity and maintain accurate forecasts in the CRM • Build trust along with a strong pipeline of deals through outbounds, industry events, and relationships. • Become a student of interconnection and transmission planning — able to speak credibly with technical buyers. • Partner closely with product and customer success to ensure smooth onboarding and long-term adoption. • Work with the sales leadership team to refine our sales playbook.
About Nira Energy Nira's mission is to help convert the US power grid to be 100% fossil-free. We are profitable! Nira is a software platform that helps renewable energy developers find the cheapest points on the grid to connect. We focus on estimating the cost to interconnect with the electrical grid (aka the Interconnection Process). Depending on where developers connect, they may be on the hook to pay millions of dollars to upgrade power lines, substations etc. What you'll do As an Account Manager at Nira, you'll work directly with renewable energy developers—our core customers—to help them navigate the complex world of grid interconnection. Your work will be a key part of accelerating renewable projects getting built. You’ll work most closely with our customers’ Transmission, Interconnection, and Development teams. Your day-to-day will span everything from onboarding and product guidance to contract renewals and upselling new features. You’ll also collaborate closely with Nira’s internal teams to shape the product based on what our customers actually need. Most of your time will be spent building deep, long-term relationships with our customers, becoming their go-to for anything Nira-related. The best Account Managers at Nira are part technical expert, part product advisor, and part strategic partner. About you 3+ years in a customer-facing role in the utility or energy industry (account management, sales, or similar). You understand the transmission and interconnection landscape—or are excited to dive in and become an expert. You’re a strong communicator with high emotional intelligence. You love building relationships and naturally take ownership. You’re excited about working with renewable developers and influencing the energy transition. You can confidently upsell and retain customers because you genuinely understand their needs

Role Description Nira is hiring Transmission Planning Engineers to join the product team comprised of half planning engineers and half software engineers. In this role, you’ll work with other planning engineers and software engineers to build products that help renewable developers put together successful project portfolios. Specifically, you’ll: - Focus on deepening and expanding your transmission planning and generator interconnection studies subject matter expertise. - Work with software engineers and product managers to codify your domain knowledge into Nira’s software products’ backend. - Support the full product life cycle including product ideation, research and development, coding, sales support, customer support, and product maintenance. Qualifications - You have experience with generation interconnection related studies. - You have 2+ years of hands-on experience with tools like TARA, PSS/E, Power World, Python, etc. - You have a sense of what data renewable developers need to build a portfolio of successful projects. - You’re motivated by having ownership in your work. - You take initiative on projects and have a strong preference to be a trailblazer. - You’re ready to roll up your sleeves for the team, and no task is beneath you. - You want to level up your software engineering skills. - You’re low ego and seek to find the best solutions for customers.
