Role Description The Service Engineer I provides remote and on-site technical support to our customers across the US, Canada, and Mexico, utilizing a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and excellent customer service. This role focuses on repairs, process issues, and equipment optimization, serving as a trusted technical advisor. Responsibilities include conducting remote troubleshooting and diagnosis, as well as providing in-person support as needed at customer sites, including during the equipment installation process. Key Responsibilities - Repairs machines and conducts installations at customers' facilities - Installs hardware and software upgrades - Provides phone and email support to customers as needed - Troubleshoots machine issues and provides feedback to the factory regarding equipment performance - Conducts training courses at customer facilities - Assists Service Engineer II as assigned - Assists Applications and Testing Group as assigned - Supports Sales personnel by answering questions, forwarding information, and visiting customers when required - Supports Marketing personnel by collecting and reporting customer issues and demands - Promotes products and services in an appropriate manner, according to training received - Travels within the US, Canada, and Mexico as needed - Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications - Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Software Engineering - 3 to 5 years of experience in design/repair/maintenance service of semiconductor industrial back end equipment required - Experience in semiconductor back-end process/equipment required - Adept analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills - Experience in root cause analysis preferred - Strong oral and written communication skills - Ability to travel within the US, Canada, and Mexico on a frequent basis is required Location This is a remote position that requires frequent travel. Candidates must be based in the west coast of the US. Working Conditions/Physical & Mental Demands The physical demands and working conditions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: - Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like - Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces - Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist - Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time - Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently - Close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures - Subject to inside environmental conditions and hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts Travel Requirements Frequently within the US.
