From Project Developer to Direct of Development, developers at Mission can expect to support projects throughout development stages and work collaboratively with cross-functional groups including from finance, engineering, GIS, real estate, permitting, transmission/interconnection, and revenue contract origination. The Development Team is ideal for deeply skilled people who want to lead in an entrepreneurial environment while maximizing their impact on the clean energy transition. Desired Qualifications: Depending on level we expect candidates to have a range of utility-scale renewable energy experience, as well as the following experiences, skills, and attributes. - Strong project management skills - Ability to manage and support multiple projects simultaneously, with varying complexities and urgencies presented day to day - Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders - Superior preparation, presentation, time management & interpersonal skills - Represent the company with the utmost professionalism with internal and external communications - Bias toward action in decision making - A valid driving license - Ability and willingness to travel within the United States as much as 30% of the time, or as required by project needs Mission offers highly competitive compensation, including base + bonus. Senior Permitting Manager

Role Description Mission Clean Energy is seeking a Senior Permitting Manager with extensive utility-scale renewable energy experience to join our dynamic team and drive permitting for our solar and BESS projects. The ideal candidate will have a broad skill set to work across a wide variety of specialties including: - Business - Finance - Communications - Biology - Policy - Real Estate This position will report directly to the Head of Development and will oversee permitting workstreams, working closely with Developers, Development Managers, as well as the GIS, Engineering, and Real Estate teams. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare, submit, and coordinate agency approval of applications for discretionary permits and other entitlements critical to project viability and success. - Schedule and lead public meetings with external stakeholders including public hearings, town halls, pre-application meetings, and board discussions. - Obtain local support using a variety of methods including informational flyers, individual meetings, and community events. - Manage a network of external consultants in the scoping of biological, cultural, and other resource surveys and the preparation of diligence documents necessary for environmental permitting and financing processes. - Coordinate with and solicit feedback from a network of geographically dispersed internal colleagues in the preparation of land use permit applications and environmental documents. - In partnership with the development team, review zoning, floodplain, biological resources, wetlands, cultural resources, permitting fees, entitlement processes, community attributes, and other site-specific considerations to support early-stage project development. - Attend site visits in the field related to site assessment, community engagement, agency review, and construction. - Research and clearly/comprehensively summarize land, environmental review, and permitting requirements for early-stage project jurisdictions. - Attend local, state, federal land use planning and zoning meetings and industry association discussions; take clear, concise notes and summarize take-aways for internal teams. - Assist in coordination of public meetings and project hearings. - Prepare external presentation materials for, and participate in meetings with, key external stakeholders including local, state, and federal agencies, elected officials, project communities, environmental NGOs, and Native American tribes. - Prepare and provide permit compliance documentation to regulatory agencies. - Manage and keep up to date project permitting schedule and budgets. - Develop internal presentation, communication, and approval materials for executive management and other internal stakeholders. - Review draft permit requirements, maintain project obligation tracker, and complete permitting exhibits for contracts with project engineering, procurement, construction contractors. - Careful review of documents critical to a successful permitting and financing process. Qualifications - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product. - Excellent organizational and project management skills. - Independent and self-directed, but unafraid to ask questions where needed. - Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and execute in a timely and accurate manner. - Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and cross-disciplinary environment. - Ability to summarize complex issues, identify opportunities or next steps with limited guidance. - Familiarity with land/environmental policy/law (particularly NEPA/CEQA) a plus. - Familiarity with Google Earth, GIS a plus. - Ability and willingness to travel within the United States approximately twice per quarter, or as required. - Demonstrated ability to manage and work effectively with cross-functional employee groups. - Bachelor’s Degree. - Four to eight (or more) years of work experience in environmental consulting, permitting, renewable energy, real estate, planning, policy, or other related field. - Experience working with local, state, federal land management agencies, environmental NGOs, or Native American tribes a plus. - Ability and willingness to travel within the United States as much as 40% of the time, or as required by project needs.
