• Inspection of installed structures and related civil work through all stages of construction and/or repair to ensure the work is completed in compliance with Client Standards, designs, specifications, and quality requirements. • Conducting quality assurance inspections of civil works, such as underground duct banks, ditch infills, dike construction/modifications, pilasters, culvert/bridge installations and various concrete structures. • Write detailed reports, including pre-job meeting guide, daily inspection report, non-standard report, photos, marked drawings, and civil completion certificate, submitted within 24 hours of completing the inspection. • Hold pre-construction meeting with the civil contractor to review the design drawings, Client standards/specifications, and site at the start of the project. • Identify non-conformances during inspection, document, and communicate non-conformances with the Contractor. • Act as field delegate of the Client’s Designer and/or Professional Engineer, performing field reviews and coordinating field-related design issues with the Designer/Engineer.

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Senior Construction Officer who has site coordination and oversight experience, and, most importantly, aligns with our core values (Safety, Sharing, Standards, Speed, Solutions, and Stretch). This position is based on-site at remote locations across the Northwest Territories and is responsible for overseeing contractors and overall project progress on behalf of our power utility client. Responsibilities: The core responsibilities include: - Oversee construction activities across all project phases, including civil works, equipment installation, and commissioning at a remote brownfield diesel power generation facility - Lead on-site contractor coordination and ensure compliance with client company's procedures, safety policies, and safe work practices - Review, implement, and update project safety plans and risk assessments in collaboration with contractors - Manage and coordinate testing and commissioning activities - Ensure all work complies with construction and contract management standards, including applicable safety requirements - Confirm construction materials are delivered, complete, and compliant with approved designs and specifications - Coordinate construction delivery, including progress tracking, change management, and deficiency resolution - Prepare and submit daily site reports and maintain accurate project documentation - Participate in daily tailboard meetings and ensure timely incident reporting and follow-up - Maintain regular communication with contractors, plant operations, and the project manager regarding progress and changes - Liaise with engineers, professionals of record, and project stakeholders to identify and resolve site issues - Provide technical input and respond to construction-related inquiries - Support site logistics coordination, including charter flight planning and alignment with plant operations - Assist with minor site or camp maintenance activities as required (training provided) - Work extended hours (up to 12 hours per day, 7 days per week) based on project needs
