Role Description We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, enthusiastic and forward thinking qualified Occupational Therapist to join the Furness Home Based Treatment Team based in Barrow. The post will be supported under the supervision of a network Occupational Therapy Clinical Specialist. The fully aligned role will involve clinical Occupational Therapy provision working within a multidisciplinary team within the adult acute setting for service users experiencing mental health difficulties requiring home-based treatment. - Provide Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions to support recovery within home treatment. - Undertake supervision of junior staff. - Assist in local developments related to the Occupational Therapy services locally and across the footprint of Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. - Participate in Occupational Therapy Best Practice Forums. - Shadow Occupational Therapists working within other home-based treatment teams within the trust. Qualifications - Substantial experience in Mental Health Occupational Therapy. - Special interest and expertise in the relationship between occupation and mental health. - Ability to deliver a range of group and/or individual interventions. - Demonstrated sophisticated clinical reasoning skills. Requirements - Prioritise planning and delivering interventions for individuals with significant occupational needs. - Awareness of the occupational needs of both Start and Home Treatment service users. - Ability to liaise and negotiate across service boundaries and in varied settings. - Research aware and use evidence to support and develop practice.
