Role Description Due to our continued growth, we are hiring a VP of Science and AI to join our executive leadership team. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will occupy a unique, high-impact position that bridges executive scientific advisory with scalable technical implementation. In this role, you will serve as a primary, trusted advisor to senior leadership at L7’s most strategic enterprise accounts—such as Eli Lilly and Cargill—ensuring our platform aligns deeply with their overarching business objectives and scientific goals. As the strategic point of contact for these marquee accounts, you will look holistically at their operational landscapes to identify expansion and upsell opportunities, seamlessly aligning with our sales and commercial teams to drive continuous revenue growth. Internally, you will be directly responsible for establishing L7's scientific content strategy, L7|SYNAPSE Agentic AI usage within the customer base, creating standard, reusable scientific content and workflows to accelerate and optimize implementation across our entire customer base. To achieve this, you will directly manage, mentor, and scale a specialized, cross-functional team of scientists and developers dedicated to content engineering and deployment reuse. What you will get to do - Support and participate in L7's quality management system (QMS) by complying with the Quality Policy and SOPs, and by meeting L7's QMS objectives. - Serve as an executive-level trusted advisor to senior leadership at key strategic accounts (e.g., Lilly, Cargill), building deep, collaborative relationships and establishing long-term business cases with clear ROI. - Identify and capture upsell opportunities within these strategic enterprise accounts, continuously monitoring account health and coordinating directly with the sales and commercial teams to maintain a sustainable pipeline. - Formulate the strategy for scientific content reuse, overseeing the design, standardization, and creation of modular scientific content intended for rapid deployment across customer implementations. - Lead, manage, and scale a dedicated team of scientists and developers, laying out tasks in sufficient detail while fostering an environment of continuous learning, growth, and high performance. - Collaborate closely with internal executives and cross-functional product management, strategy, and engineering teams to translate complex field requirements into standard platform capabilities. - Evangelize L7’s solutions and technical architecture to external executive stakeholders, establishing strong thought leadership across life sciences, pharma, and precision agriculture value chains. Qualifications - Ph.D. or Master’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology) or Computer Science with a strong scientific focus. - 7+ years of progressive experience in strategic sales, business development, or executive-level consulting within the life sciences industry. - A proven track record of nurturing executive-level customer relationships, building trust, and influencing decision-makers at large enterprise companies. - Proven experience managing cross-functional technical teams, specifically combining the talents of scientific domain experts (scientists) and technical implementers (software developers). - Skilled in designing scalable, reusable technical or scientific frameworks, data models, workflows, or content libraries that optimize software implementation timelines. - Excellent verbal and written communication style, with a proven history of explaining highly complex scientific and technical concepts clearly to both technical teams and C-suite executives. - Highly organized, resourceful, and planful, with the ability to juggle multiple strategic priorities and foresee/plan around obstacles without losing momentum. What will make you stand out - An established history of building and maintaining long-term, high-trust relationships with key client executives, resulting in exceptionally high levels of retention and account expansion. - Demonstrated success in developing innovative, standardized MES, LIMS, or ELN solutions that go beyond conventional approaches to drastically reduce custom deployment timelines. - Experience working in a rapidly growing startup or scale-up environment, demonstrating the ability to deliver massive results with optimized resources and tight timelines. - Deep technical knowledge spanning L4 enterprise systems (ERP, QMS) down to L3 (LIMS, MES, Scheduling), L2 (Automation), and advanced data intelligence platforms.
