Position Overview: Invictus Associates is seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and versatile Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with QuickBooks, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications, along with knowledge of government contracting requirements and DCAA compliance. This role requires an individual who is organized, adaptable, and eager to learn new skills in a dynamic environment. The Controller will play a key role in managing the company’s financial operations, maintaining accurate accounting records, supporting government contract compliance, and contributing to the overall financial health and operational growth of the organization. The successful candidate will be comfortable managing multiple priorities, maintaining strong internal controls, and working closely with leadership to support sound financial management and strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities: The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial management and accounting operations, including but not limited to: • Managing day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and bank reconciliations. • Maintaining the integrity of financial records and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. • Overseeing accounting processes within QuickBooks Desktop, ensuring proper job costing and allocation of direct and indirect expenses. • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting leadership with financial analysis and reporting. • Supporting government contracting compliance, including DCAA requirements, FAR cost principles, and proper accounting treatment of contract costs. • Assisting with the preparation and monitoring of indirect rates, provisional billing rates, and cost allocations. • Supporting contract invoicing, including cost-type, T&M, and fixed-price contracts as applicable. • Preparing financial documentation for audits, contract reviews, or government requests. • Supporting preparation of information required for DCAA submissions, tax filings, and other regulatory reporting. • Maintaining internal controls and improving accounting processes to ensure efficiency and compliance. • Collaborating with leadership on budgeting, financial planning, and business growth initiatives. • Assisting with financial aspects of proposal preparation, pricing, and contract administration when needed. • Supporting HR and payroll-related financial activities, including benefits accounting and payroll reconciliation. Qualifications: - Minimum of 5–7 years of accounting experience, preferably including government contracting. - Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop and Microsoft Excel. - Experience working with government contracts and DCAA-compliant accounting practices. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. - Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. - Strong organizational and communication skills. - Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred but not required).
