Title: Account Director, Financial Services Location: New York, New York, United States Job Description: Business Insider is hiring an Account Director (Digital Ad Sales) to join our Financial Services vertical to continue building out the client base and deliver custom solutions. The Role & Team: We are looking for experienced, client facing, enthusiastic digital media experts with a proven record of building and nurturing client relationships and partnerships. The FINCO Team works with clients and agencies across the financial sector vertical from banks, credit cards, asset managers, insurance, fintech, payments and crypto. As an Account Director, you will be responsible for a national list of both established and new clients. Successful candidates will be creative thinkers who have exceptional interpersonal skills and are capable of developing relationships through high activity motions, opening new sales pipeline, and closing business from Financial clients. This role reports directly to the VP of Finance Vertical Sales. Candidates must be willing to travel. This position is based in our New York City HQ with an in-office presence of at least 3 days per week. Key Responsibilities: - Serving as an “evangelist” for Business Insider internally and externally; clearly articulating the company’s unique value proposition in the context of a fragmented research marketplace - Lead high-level relationships with key Financial clients and agencies - Have 5-10, in-depth in-person and virtual meetings (exploratory, presentations, entertainment) with prospective clients and their agencies - Develop custom client solutions utilizing Business Insider’s entire suite of products including Branded Content, Display, Video, Social, Programmatic, Data and Live/Virtual Events. - Develop, maintain, and sustain relationships with media agencies, creative agencies, and clients directly while hitting quarterly sales targets. - Work across multiple client and agency partners, i.e. branded content, video, digital and innovation teams, to deliver successful campaigns - Coordinate effectively with Marketing, Client Services, Media Planning and Studios Teams to create successful ad campaigns. - Focus on brand sell, educating and inspiring our Financial clients to use Business Insider. to enhance their business - Develop strategic account plans to achieve target revenue goals; hit or exceed these revenue goals - Represent Business Insider at events and serve as a brand ambassador - Manage activity using salesforce.com The Ideal Candidate Has: - A Strong network. You have a strong record of collaborating with Financial clients from advertising clients across the industry. - Digital media expertise. The role requires a sophisticated understanding of both creative custom packages and data-driven audience programs, and experience and ability to sell these across various geographic areas. A solid understanding of programmatic, both tech and sales sides of the business, is preferred. - An insatiable curiosity combined with the ability to translate abstract concepts and ideas into actionable marketing solutions is essential. - Candidates must be self-starters – capable of creating sales momentum from scratch. - The ability to think creatively and passionate about storytelling, technology, media, and selling. - Willingness to navigate named accounts, understand marketing strategies, position Insider’s products and ad solutions on their behalf, and close deals. As well as creating custom content solutions all candidates must have knowledge of programmatic ad selling. Title: Business News Editor (Temporary Contract) Location: New York, New York, United States Job Description: Business Insider is hiring a temporary editor on our business team to help drive coverage of corporate news and run a group of reporters. This role is a contract role paid hourly, requires 40 hours a week, will start in July, and last 4 months. This position is based in our NYC headquarters with an in-office expectation of three days a week. The Role: This business editor will assign and edit engaging stories on the Corporate desk. Key areas of focus are big box retailers, gig economy companies like Uber and DoorDash, consumer brands and trends, and wealth and billionaires. They will think strategically about the team’s coverage mix, innovate ways to set our reporting apart, and edit for clarity, pacing, and narrative, while upholding high standards of accuracy and rigor. BI’s business editors excel at juggling the news of the day with guiding reporters on beat coverage. This editor will manage a group of reporters and should be comfortable coaching on sourcing, and brainstorming ideas to elevate the reporting. They should also be comfortable working on tight deadlines. This person will report to the deputy editor of business. As part of our broader business coverage team, this person may help out in other areas as needed. Key Responsibilities: - Assign and edit distinguishing stories on big business news. - Edit copy for clarity and standards. Also, help edit stories across other desks as needed. - Lead a team of reporters, helping them sharpen their ideas and beats and think strategically about sourcing. - Track edits and deliver feedback regularly to drive continuous improvement across the team. - Manage editorial projects to ensure reporters and internal teams meet deadlines and quality standards. The Ideal Candidate Has: - Proven track record in driving business news coverage - Experience leading a team of reporters and editing a diverse mix of story types - Collaborative mindset with a steady, constructive approach to delivering feedback - High editorial standards and a commitment to clear, consistent communication - Strong cross-team communication skills, especially around workflows, story pipelines, and longer-term projects - Extreme attention to detail when managing editorial projects from pitch to publication.
