Role Description HealthWorks is seeking a per diem (PRN) Registered and Licensed West Virginia Dietitian to join our team (4-8 hours per week). This is a telehealth role that offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing individualized nutrition and weight management counseling (Bariatric Program) to clients across Marion, Monongahela, and Taylor counties. - Schedule: 4-8 hours per week via Telehealth - Employment Type: Per Diem / PRN (4-8 hours/week) - Flexibility: Workdays can be coordinated based on your availability and client needs - Provide virtual 1:1 nutrition and weight management counseling - Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans - Support diet therapy, education, and behavior change strategies - Plan, organize, and evaluate all aspects of patient nutritional care - Educate clients as well as staff on nutrition-related topics - Participate in required training to support WV Public Employees Insurance Agency (PEIA) programs Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in food & nutrition or related field - Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential (Commission on Dietetic Registration) - Active West Virginia Registered Dietitian License - Strong communication, organizational, and patient education skills - Willingness to complete required PEIA training Requirements - Ensures clients nutrition label program meets quality standards via audit samples - Reports audits in an organized fashion - Collaborates with team on the ongoing needs of the nutrition labeling program - Participates in corporate wellness events - Edits and creates nutrition education - Presents on various nutrition topics - Participates in informational tabling that incorporate monthly themes - Leads support groups and workshops - Plans appropriate diets and menus to meet the needs of individuals whose medical condition can be treated or controlled using diet therapy - Determines if follow-up appointment is needed, based on patient’s motivation and comprehension of education session - Conducts nutrition education classes if demand exists (diabetes classes, weight management) - Serves as a community resource to clients - Monitors and responds to phone and e-mail messages promptly - Enters nutrition notes promptly when assessment is completed - Maintains patient, employee and computer data safety and confidentiality - Excellent communication and counseling skills - Training in Motivational Interviewing - Time management, punctuality, and organizational skills a must - Personable, compassionate, friendly, responsible and hard working - Must be able to work independently as well as be team oriented - Computer skills (Apple & Microsoft Office) Benefits - New graduates are encouraged to apply - Opportunity for a consistent schedule as caseload grows - Supportive environment with a focus on community health and wellness
