Role Description Groundfloor is looking for a senior product designer to drive high-quality, human-centered design. You will be leading efforts to develop consumer-grade design to enable people to participate in and build portfolios of private market & real estate investments. This role works in close collaboration with the Product team, strengthening UX for user workflows, identifying pain points, and managing the execution of designs across Groundfloor’s product lines. The ideal candidate is a thoughtful problem solver who is attentive to details but also comfortable with high-level strategic thinking. You will define new ways to engage multiple investor segments as we scale the business and look to improve the customer experience. We value vulnerable high-quality/low-ego collaboration. Fintech, investing, wealthtech, or real estate product experience is a plus. - Advanced Figma skills. - Experience with financial tools, investment platforms, and/or real estate products; professional experience preferred. - Experience collaborating with front-end developers to create efficient design systems. - Success in raising the design bar on consumer-facing products, emphasizing a customer-first approach. - High degree of financial literacy, comfortable with basic concepts related to building and managing a personal portfolio of investments in public and private market securities. Requirements - Demonstrate an in-depth understanding and knowledge of user-centered design activities from research, concepting, flows, sitemaps, wireframes, to high-fidelity user interfaces. - A strong visual design sensibility. - An in-depth understanding of UX concepts. - A strong portfolio and a high quality of work. - Design systems experience. - Experience leveraging AI-assisted design and prototyping tools to accelerate exploration and iteration. - Clear and effective communication skills in articulating design concepts and rationales. - Effective time-management skills and ability to deliver on multiple competing priorities. We are a remote-first environment and value strong collaboration and teamwork to solve complex engineering and business challenges. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be a vital part of a full-stack development pod, contributing across our mobile app (React Native), web application (Vue.js), and our backend services (Ruby). Your work will be crucial in delivering features that drive investor adoption, engagement, and retention on the platform. Qualifications - 5+ years of professional software development experience. - Strong proficiency in full-stack development, including mobile and web application architecture. - Expertise in one or more of our primary technologies: React Native, Vue.js. - Expertise with Ruby and/or Typescript. - Deep understanding of database modeling, query optimization, and strong SQL proficiency (Postgres experience is a strong plus). - Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders. - Experience with agile development methodologies and modern CI/CD practices. - A strong track record of shipping high-quality, performant production code. Requirements - Experience with marketing technology integrations, specifically related to user acquisition, attribution tracking, and deep linking. - Familiarity with Docker, k8s, and AWS. - Familiarity with Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) like Segment and supporting analytics frameworks. - Prior experience in FinTech or the investment industry is a plus, but not required.
