• Build and maintain a clear point of view on what makes a creator sponsorship convert; not just reach numbers, but audience intent, content format, and platform context. • Use performance data to build institutional knowledge about what content formats, creator profiles, and audience segments drive the best conversion for Ground News, as well as to feed those insights back into discovery and strategy. • Stay close to platform trends, creator dynamics, and audience behaviour so your strategy reflects how people actually consume content, not how they consumed it six months ago. • Own sponsored creator campaigns on emerging platforms from concept to optimization, ensuring the portfolio delivers against performance goals with minimal oversight. • Develop platform entry strategies and scale them as the business evolves: the platforms we prioritize may shift, and you'll need to evolve with them. • Lead high-value creator deals to close. • Lead and coach a small team responsible for vetting creators, cultivating relationships, and executing campaigns across new platforms. • Set clear goals, drive accountability, and proactively remove blockers: modelling ownership and follow-through across all work streams. • Build and refine processes as the team expands into new platforms and creator ecosystems. • Partner with Discovery, Content, and Analytics teams to align on goals and optimize the full creator funnel. • Develop weekly and quarterly forecasting reports and performance updates for leadership. • Identify and build relationships with top creators across new and emerging platforms with an openness to wherever the creator landscape evolves. • Stay ahead of platform trends, creator dynamics, and audience behaviour to adapt strategies quickly and capitalize on early-mover advantages. • You are comfortable working with performance data to evaluate creator quality. You know the difference between reach and conversion, and you use metrics like ROAS, CAC, and CPM to make data-driven decisions. • You are able to build and work with cost projection models (CPM-based or otherwise) to forecast campaign performance before committing budget. • You gather proper business context before jumping to solutions. When something is underperforming, you diagnose the funnel before prescribing a fix.
• Build and manage relationships with creators, agencies, and their representatives across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Podcasts, and Newsletters. • Lead deal negotiations (pricing, terms, and contracts), balancing Ground News's performance targets with creator expectations. • Evaluate creators on audience quality, engagement authenticity, and fit with Ground News's mission. • Make confident go/no-go calls and drive deals to close: you know when to push, when to hold on price, and how to create urgency without burning the relationship. • Own campaign delivery from signed contract through post-launch review: briefs, timelines, approvals, and follow-through. • Develop tailored creator briefs that give clear performance direction while preserving the creator's authentic voice. • Coordinate with internal content and analytics teams to ensure campaigns are on-brand and set up to perform. • Track and report on campaign performance (impressions, clicks, installs, subscriptions, and ROAS) and translate data into actionable recommendations. • Identify what's working and what isn't across your portfolio, and bring a hypothesis before escalating to leadership. • Work with the analytics team to build better reporting practices and continuously improve conversion across the creator funnel. • Identify opportunities to expand relationships with high-performing creators into longer-term or multi-platform partnerships. • Stay close to platform trends and creator dynamics so your strategy reflects how audiences actually consume content today. • Contribute to building playbooks and processes that make the team more efficient as we scale.
Role Description Ground News is a media bias and source comparison platform used by readers across 190+ countries. It's a product that challenges how people consume information; and that challenge shows up in every design decision. We're in the middle of a full product redesign with real users, real usage data, and real stakes already in play. This is a unique moment: the architecture is being rethought from the ground up, and new surfaces are being built 0-to-1 alongside a live product. You'll be joining a lean team, reporting directly to the Head of Design, where your work has a short path to production and a direct line to what ships. This is a senior individual contributor role with end-to-end ownership, and genuine craft expectations. What You’ll Do - Own features from early concept through shipped product, including research, interaction design, visual design, and prototyping. - Lead visual and motion design work across web and mobile, with a high bar for craft and attention to detail. - Manage and evolve the Figma component library and design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across a redesigning product. - Design for complexity; making dense information and nuanced features feel intuitive and accessible. - Assist in user research, bringing a data-informed perspective to what problems are worth solving and why. - Collaborate closely and clearly with engineering, product, and leadership; communicating design rationale with precision and nuance. - Bring an ethical, experimentation-based perspective on where AI fits in the design workflow. Qualifications - Exceptional visual and interaction design skills, demonstrated through a thoughtful portfolio that shows both craft and solid design thinking. - Hands-on experience managing design systems and component libraries at scale (Figma proficiency expected). - Motion design sensibility: You think about animation as a communication tool. - Experience designing products that simplify complex information for a broad audience. - Fluency with lean research methods; you know how to move fast and stay informed by users’ feedback. - Comfort working across both native mobile (iOS/Android) and web. - Strong cross-functional collaboration and ability to articulate design decisions clearly to engineers, PMs, and non-designers alike. - A point of view on AI in design workflows, built on real professional experience and experimentation.
