Role Description Student tour guides conduct in-person and virtual tours of campus, serve on panels during programs and special events (virtual and in-person), and share meals in the dining hall with prospective students and their families, visiting counselors, visiting faculty and/or staff, alumni, and other special visitors to the College. They are responsible for highlighting the academic and co-curricular strengths and unique features of Grinnell College, and are expected to answer the questions of prospective students and their families. The Office of Admission seeks students who are: - Reliable - Articulate - Trustworthy - Professional - Interested in meeting prospective students and sharing their knowledge of, and experiences related to, the College Qualifications - Applicants may be a part of the classes of 2027, 2028, or 2029 - Active members of the campus community - Collegial and eager to interact with visitors - Students in good academic standing - Articulate and good listeners - Interested in meeting with prospective students and their families - Willing to share knowledge of and experiences related to Grinnell Requirements - Work at least one regular virtual or in-person shift per week during the academic year - Show up on time for all shifts - Sign up for at least two “special” tours per semester - Attend mandatory group orientation and training in the fall, typically encompassing two half days during New Student Orientation Benefits - Pay rate of $14.04 an hour for the academic year - Opportunities to work for Admission during major academic breaks (fall, winter, spring)
