Skills & Experience Significant experience in business architecture and process management, with strong expertise in business capabilities, enterprise processes and value streams. Proven experience leading and developing specialist teams focused on business architecture and process improvement. Excellent interpersonal, presentation, written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate and convey complex concepts to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. The opportunity As Team Leader, Enterprise Business Design, you will lead the development, implementation and governance of Greater Western Water’s enterprise business architecture and process management frameworks, playing a pivotal role in driving enterprise-wide transformation and operational excellence. This role is central to aligning business capabilities and processes with GWW’s strategic objectives, ensuring the organisation is well positioned to meet current and future challenges. Leading the design and ongoing maintenance of GWW’s business capability model, you will partner closely with executive and senior leaders to align capabilities with evolving operating models. You will identify capability uplift priorities, support clear capability ownership, and integrate business capabilities with value streams, IT systems and strategic initiatives, enabling informed decision-making and sustainable performance improvement across the enterprise. Responsibilities Establish, implement and govern enterprise-wide principles, frameworks, guidelines, templates and tools for business architecture and business process management. Lead the definition, ongoing maintenance and maturity assessment of GWW’s business capability model, ensuring alignment with current and target operating models and strategic objectives. Partner with executive and senior leaders to determine capability ownership, embed accountability, and map business capabilities to the organisational structure. Identify capability uplift priorities and develop capability roadmaps by assessing maturity, strategic initiatives, dependencies and impacts across programs and projects. Design and maintain enterprise value stream maps, collaborating with process owners and specialists to identify process gaps, improvement opportunities and how value is delivered to customers and stakeholders. Establish an integrated enterprise view by mapping business capabilities to IT applications, information entities, customers and stakeholders, in partnership with Enterprise IT Architecture, IT&D and Stakeholder Affairs. This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act, protecting public health, and delivering high-quality water services to the community. You'll lead a multidisciplinary team while working closely with key stakeholders including Melbourne Water and Southern Rural Water. With a strong focus on risk management, continuous improvement and operational excellence, you'll play a key role in safeguarding water quality and supporting sustainable water management outcomes. Responsibilities - Lead the operation of catchments, dams and water treatment plants to ensure safe, reliable supply - Ensure compliance with Safe Drinking Water Act, DWRMP, HACCP and regulatory standards - Lead and develop a high-performing team of operators, engineers and technical specialists - Manage operational and capital programs, including budgets, maintenance and asset performance - Identify and mitigate operational risks, responding to incidents and system issues - Build strong partnerships with internal teams, regulators and external stakeholders Skills & Experience - Significant experience in water or wastewater treatment operations and leadership roles - Strong knowledge of Safe Drinking Water Act, regulatory compliance, HACCP systems and risk management frameworks - Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance and build capability - Experience managing budgets, asset management systems and operational planning - Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills - Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical or Process Engineering (Highly desirable) - Hold a valid Australian Drivers Licence (required) See yourself thrive Our vision for GWW is Thriving People and Country.
