Role Description The Pre-Construction Manager will be responsible for administering pre-construction high voltage engineering services for all generation and data center projects starting in the early to mid-development phase through the start of construction. The Pre-Construction Manager will ensure that all high voltage scope, budgets, and processes are in conformity with Geronimo Power’s established policies and objectives. Responsibilities - Lead the development and review of preliminary high voltage engineering designs and strategy, with both internal and external resources. - Serve as the Company's subject matter expert for high-voltage systems, providing technical leadership and strategic guidance throughout the project lifecycle. - Lead coordination with interconnecting utilities on data center projects, determining high voltage equipment strategy and ramp schedule. - Support power and data center project optimization with Energy Modeling, Development, Financial Modeling, and Procurement groups to develop the optimal project design and execution strategy. - Coordinate with Estimating for project budgeting on all high voltage scope. - Provide support to internal teams for customer RFP (request for proposal) responses. - Evaluate EPC and equipment bids for both compliance with RFP requirements and selecting the optimal vendor or technology. - Support both EPC and equipment contracting negotiations. - Support Development with landowner discussions for design considerations. - Coordinate with Procurement for substation and transmission equipment considerations and strategy. - Represent Geronimo Power at appropriate industry conferences and community stakeholder meetings, participating in discussions and providing comments if needed. - Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. - Minimum 4 years’ experience with engineering and construction. - Minimum 2 years’ experience with project development and design (preferably renewable energy and data center experience). - Proficient knowledge of high voltage concepts and equipment. - Basic understanding of EPC and equipment contracts. - Proven ability to organize and manage several projects at various stages of development. - Excellent knowledge of construction concepts and practices. - Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. - Proficiency in using programs such as Microsoft Office, Procore, AutoCAD, and database management systems. - Ability to travel up to 25% of the time. Success in This Role Looks Like - Establish effective relationships with utilities, EPC partners, and engineering consultants within the first 12 months. - Deliver accurate high-voltage engineering scopes and budgets that support project investment decisions. - Drive timely utility interconnection and transmission planning activities. - Support successful progression of renewable energy and powered data park projects from development into construction. - Identify cost savings and design optimization opportunities that improve project economics. - Partner effectively across Development, Procurement, Finance, Engineering, and Construction teams. Role Description The Procurement Lead will oversee the sourcing and procurement of PV modules and/or wind equipment for utility-scale renewable energy projects. This role is responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies, identifying and managing supplier relationships, negotiating commercial agreements, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality equipment to support project development and construction. - Develop and execute a multi-year commodity procurement strategy supporting a 1 GW/year solar, wind, and energy storage project pipeline. - Monitor market technology trends, policy developments, and regulatory changes, and adjust procurement strategies accordingly. - Identify and assess supply chain risks related to renewable energy equipment and implement mitigation strategies. - Incorporate market intelligence and supplier insights into procurement and contracting strategies. - Collaborate with internal technical teams and suppliers to optimize system performance and reduce LCOE (Levelized Cost of Electricity). - Develop and maintain supplier strategies and relationships for PV modules and wind turbine equipment. - Support project management teams during both early-stage development and late-stage execution. - Supervise and mentor Procurement Managers and/or Procurement Specialists as applicable. - Develop and manage competitive RFP processes to ensure optimal supplier selection. - Lead and support contract negotiations, including scope, pricing, terms and conditions, delivery schedules, and change management. - Apply strong contracting and commercial skills, including scope development, contract editing, and monitoring commercial changes from award through delivery. - Review project cost proposals and actual cost reports, producing standardized cost summaries and variance analyses. - Track and report cost movements during negotiations and contract execution. - Ensure procurement agreements meet objectives related to safety, cost, schedule, quality, and delivery performance. - Ensure risk alignment across key project agreements (e.g., EPC agreements, equipment supply agreements, PPAs, warranties). - Coordinate closely with development, legal, engineering, construction, operations, maintenance, and asset management teams on all equipment supply matters. - Facilitate internal coordination and resolution of commercial and technical contract changes. - Develop and maintain supplier performance scorecards to evaluate and prioritize vendors. Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, and contract negotiation. - PV module procurement experience required. - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred. - Experience supporting utility-scale solar, wind, and/or energy storage development projects. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely explain complex concepts. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Highly detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to accuracy. - Demonstrated ability to manage and execute multiple large contracts simultaneously, including negotiating complex commercial agreements. - Knowledge of utility-scale renewable energy development (solar, wind, storage, dispatchable generation) is a plus. - Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and effectively influence internal and external stakeholders. - Ability to build consensus and drive mutually beneficial outcomes with suppliers and internal teams.
