Role Description As a Principal Software Engineer on the Cyberbank Core team at Galileo, you will lead broad, impactful projects across multiple teams as one of the senior-most technical contributors shaping our next-generation lean core banking platform. Your influence will span teams, projects, and geographies, driving both technical direction and how our teams design, build, and operate the services and data pipelines that power scalable, performant, and secure banking products. - Be hands-on and in the details as an exemplary practitioner in software development, infrastructure operation, and testing, releasing, and maintaining at scale. - Help teams evolve codebases to ship improvements safely and frequently in a regulated, cloud-native environment. - Steward a broader engineering community and mentor engineers across the organization. - Proactively identify the right problems to solve and advocate for organizational priorities. - Work closely with engineering, product, compliance, data, and executive stakeholders to define and execute on technical strategy for Cyberbank Core. - Face and solve a wide range of challenges: architectural, operational, and product-related, across multiple products and geographies. What You’ll Do - Own driving Cyberbank Core's software architecture and systems forward — setting long-term direction and executing on it across multiple teams and quarters. - Build as an exemplary practitioner: get hands-on developing software and set a high quality standard for teams to follow. - Define the right boundaries, APIs, and integrations between teams and with clients and partners. - Solve complex engineering problems endemic to high-availability, low-latency, scalable distributed systems in a regulated banking environment. - Execute large-scale projects — leading design, planning, and execution across multiple teams. - Drive the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and highly available SaaS services and data engineering pipelines. - Proactively identify broader problems and opportunities. - Raise the quality of our engineering teams: identify opportunities and advocate for improvements. - Mentor and coach individuals and teams across the company. - Articulate how technical architecture and team structure interact. - Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership, representing technical strategy to business and executive stakeholders. - Continuously drive improvement, new practices, and operational excellence initiatives across the department. - Champion improvements in code, design, and operational reviews. Qualifications - 10+ years of programming experience; mastery of software development independent of language. - Advanced expertise in designing, building, and operating large-scale fault-tolerant distributed systems, applications, databases, and workflows. - Demonstrated experience with continuous delivery principles and techniques. - Deep expertise in designing and managing cloud-based solutions with a strong focus on resiliency; experience with AWS (or other public cloud infrastructure) required. - A high standard for what "great" looks like, and experience continuously improving legacy systems to reach it. - Strong judgment, and experience recognizing and driving out critical decisions in a balanced and pragmatic way. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across remote, distributed teams. - Experience working in a regulated industry. - Experience working on banking backends, particularly cores, ledgers, or payment systems is a plus. - Bi-lingual Spanish/English required. • Execute controls for your assigned portfolio, including oversight, evidence gathering, and storage, to allow for an ‘effective’ control rating by Business Control Testing. • Perform ad-hoc control tests across operational processes to ensure safety and soundness across global operations. • Design, document, and maintain clear, standardized procedures for all controls assigned to you, including writing procedures where they currently do not exist. • Prepare reports and presentations for leadership and governance committees related to control outcomes, opportunities, emerging risk, and overall control performance for product specific controls. • Develop new controls, as needed, related to emerging compliance risks or issue management milestones. • Develop process maps for assigned controls (as needed) outlining workflow or process to identify control gaps. • Work with leadership to develop strategies that improve the return on investment of control execution—across manual, automated, and technology-driven processes—to drive sustainable long-term cost savings.

• Lead the design and architecture of Cyberbank solutions that meet client needs and align with industry best practices • Define and lead Discovery sessions to evaluate high-level business solutions • Create the Discovery plan and conduct the functional gap/delta analysis in collaboration with the Core Delivery Lead (CDL), Digital Delivery Lead (DDL), Chapter Director (CHD), Solution Architect (SA), and Core Delivery Manager (CDM) • Conduct solution demonstrations and workshops to showcase Cyberbank software capabilities and gather client feedback • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering strategic insights and recommendations to maximize the value of our Cyberbank software solutions • Design the Client Solution to adopt and adapt the existing out-of-the-box features from Cyberbank Core that best fit the client’s needs and reduce gaps/deltas • Build, manage, and prioritize the project Backlog through continuous refinement • Create the project roadmap and Sprint scope definition • Act as the key contact between the client to ensure the Team understands the client’s needs and expectations, product goals, scope, and vision • Work with Solution Architects (SAs) to identify external vendors and dependencies • Work with the Business Analyst (BA) to create and refine User Stories and establish the acceptance criteria for each story • Help the Team set the goals for each Sprint and communicate them to the Development Team • Validate that the end-to-end functionality meets the business and client requirements • Keep the Team and stakeholders informed of backlog status, Sprint progress, risks, and issues • Work closely with the Scrum Master (SM) and the Project Managers (PMs) to share findings and best practices, anticipate, and resolve product and story-related issues • Facilitate Sprint Review Demos • Collaborate on improving established processes, documents, tools, or any key project deliverable based on experience and lessons learned • Support pre-sales activities, including solution scoping, requirements gathering, and proposal development, as needed

• Contribute to the design, orchestration, and development of ongoing data science projects from data ingestion to presentation • Work with platform engineers and others to develop tools/frameworks needed to carry out projects • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc. • Synthesize insights from raw data • Build dashboards and other visualizations; communicate findings internally and externally • Research new data engineering and analytics methodologies with minimal guidance and support from other team members • Build ad hoc pipelines and infrastructure in the cloud to unblock analytical projects as needed • Write, test, and deploy efficient, scalable code to production that impacts millions of individuals • Generate ideas for new initiatives and technologies • Communicate with project leads, product managers and other software developers

• Assist the Internal Audit team in accomplishing audit department objectives in a team environment. • In accordance with departmental and professional internal audit standards, identify and analyze risks, plan and prioritize audit work, conduct interviews, observe operations, document and analyze procedures and controls, perform audit tests, prepare appropriate workpapers, develop audit recommendations, review identified issues with appropriate management, and prepare audit report findings related to SoFi and SoFi Bank activities. • Develop formal written reports to communicate audit results to management and other stakeholders. • Continuously seek opportunities for audit process improvement. • Work on multiple priorities/projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. • Utilize data analytics and tools in the execution of audit work. • Continue to develop and expand knowledge of the audit profession, financial and technology industry, and products through self-study, research, and continuing education efforts. • Supervise and coach staff at lower levels depending on the nature of the assignment. • Execute special assignments and other duties as assigned. • Some travel may be required.
