Summary/Objective: The Estimator will collect and analyze information to estimate costs of products and services for assigned departments and projects. Duties/Responsibilities: - Completes detailed and itemized material quantity estimates from owner or contractor furnished plan sets in accordance with project specifications. - Work independently and accomplish assigned tasks/projects by the stated due date. - Collaborate with team members as needed to achieve department goals. - Meets and collaborates with clients, engineers, and other staff to understand the scope of bidding project/assigned task. - Determines accurate quantities related materials as measured from provided plan sets. - Identifies materials required for the construction of facilities. - Researches plans and specifications to determine any special material requirements. - Determines if supplied materials meet specifications - Monitor assigned project for addenda or any changes that are made, and update estimate as required. - Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: - Manage multiple tasks efficiently . - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Strong attention to detail - Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. - Proficient in excel is a must. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Education and Experience: - Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred, but not required. - Generally, 5+ years of experience in related field OR MS/MA and generally 2+ year of experience in related field. - Experience in bid preparation, sales or related industry experience. - Knowledge of process piping for water, wastewater, industrial plant work Physical Requirements: - Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. Working from a remote location is a possibility. - Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
We are looking for a detail-oriented Estimator to analyze project specifications and provide accurate cost assessments for water, wastewater, and industrial plant projects. The ideal candidate balances technical precision with the ability to meet firm bidding deadlines. Required Skills & Experience - Industry Expertise: 5+ years of experience in estimating or bid preparation (or 2+ years with an MA/MS). - Specialized Knowledge: Proficiency in process piping for water, wastewater, or industrial facilities is required. - Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills and mastery of Microsoft Office Suite. - Analytical Mindset: Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Travel: Occasional overnight travel (less than 10%) may be required.
