Role Description To lead the selection, preparation and performance of the FAW’s Regions Cup squad in the Finals Tournament in August and September. - Lead the preparation, selection and performance of the FAW’s Regions Cup squad for the Final Tournament. - Work with relevant leagues, clubs and FAW staff to identify and assess eligible players. - Select players and staff for training camps, preparation matches and competitive fixtures. - Plan and deliver high-quality coaching sessions that prepare the squad effectively for competition. - Lead the team on matchdays, including tactical preparation, team selection and in-game management. - Create a positive, professional and inclusive environment that enables players and staff to perform at their best. - Maintain regular communication with players, clubs, support staff and relevant FAW departments. - Ensure that all squad activities comply with competition regulations, FAW policies and safeguarding requirements. - Represent the FAW professionally at all times and promote the values and reputation of Welsh football. Qualifications - Strong technical and tactical knowledge of football. - Understanding of player identification, selection and squad development. - Knowledge of the structure of domestic football in Wales, particularly Tier 2 and below. - Understanding of tournament preparation and the demands of short international competition programmes. - Understanding of the standards and behaviours expected when representing the FAW. - Must hold the UEFA B License. Requirements - Significant experience of coaching and managing players within a senior football environment. - Experience of planning and delivering coaching programmes. - Experience of identifying and assessing players across multiple clubs or competitions. - Experience of communicating with players, coaches, clubs and other key stakeholders. - Previous experience within representative, international, regional or tournament football would be advantageous. - The successful applicant will be subject to a DBS check on appointment. - The ability to speak Welsh would be advantageous. - The ability to travel or make your own way between training facilities and match venues. - The post holder will at times, be required to perform their duties, or additional work, or attend training, outside of normal office hours and/or in different locations, either domestically or internationally.
