Although the role is REMOTE, our BD team are required to attend meetings at company offices or other locations within the UK as business needs arise. The Opportunity Filtronic is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive profitable growth across our European ground segment markets. This role is ideally suited to candidates currently working within major aerospace, defence or SATCOM organisations who are looking to take on a more autonomous, commercially driven role with greater influence and visibility. You will lead strategic engagement across SATCOM ground infrastructure, teleports, gateways, defence communications systems and non-terrestrial networks (NTN), working directly with leading European primes, satellite operators and system integrators. This is an opportunity to move from a large organisational structure into a high-impact role where you can directly shape strategy, influence product direction and own major customer relationships. What You’ll Be Doing - Owning and delivering revenue, pipeline and margin targets across European ground segment markets - Developing and executing strategic account plans for key European customers and programmes - Leading early engagement on next-generation SATCOM and defence programmes to secure design wins - Building senior relationships across engineering, programme, procurement and commercial functions - Leading complex opportunity capture through multi-phase bid, negotiation and contract award processes - Navigating structured procurement environments typical of major primes and government customers - Providing insight into market trends such as: - High-throughput and next-generation satellite systems - Gateway and teleport modernisation - 5G and non-terrestrial network (NTN) integration - Secure and defence communications infrastructure

Role Description We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth across our European space market, with a focus on space flight payloads. Reporting to the Director of Business Development, you will lead strategic account development, opportunity capture, and customer engagement, while influencing product strategy and long-term growth plans.
