What You'll Do As a Project Manager - Heavy Civil / Site Work, you will lead and support a variety of environmental and civil construction projects throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. Responsibilities include: Project Leadership & Execution - Manage all phases of construction projects, from planning and procurement through execution and closeout. - Interpret plans, specifications, permits, and contract documents to define project requirements and execution strategies. - Coordinate project activities with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, regulatory agencies, and internal teams. - Support field operations and provide oversight in collaboration with Superintendents and Construction Managers. - Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication with stakeholders regarding schedule, budget, risks, and project status. Estimating & Business Development Support - Prepare competitive cost estimates, proposals, and bid packages. - Perform quantity takeoffs and analyze subcontractor and vendor pricing. - Develop scopes of work, technical approaches, and project execution plans. - Support client relationships and identify opportunities for additional services. Scheduling & Financial Management - Develop and maintain project schedules using critical path scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project. - Track project budgets, costs, productivity, and financial performance. - Prepare change orders, time impact analyses, and supporting contract documentation. - Monitor project profitability and proactively identify solutions to keep projects on track. Field Operations & Compliance - Coordinate personnel, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery. - Review daily reports, production tracking, and field documentation. - Ensure compliance with project specifications, permits, environmental regulations, and client requirements. - Oversee implementation of health, safety, and quality control programs. - Support environmental compliance activities, including stormwater inspections, soil and groundwater sampling, dewatering operations, and air monitoring, as needed. Team Collaboration - Mentor and support junior staff and field personnel. - Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. - Collaborate across ETIC's environmental, engineering, and construction teams to deliver integrated solutions. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field. - Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in construction, environmental remediation, civil infrastructure, or related industries. - Experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client communications. - Strong understanding of construction methods, contract administration, and project controls. - Excellent organizational, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. - Strong written and verbal communication abilities. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. - Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record. - Ability to travel to project sites throughout the Bay Area and occasionally for extended project assignments. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with environmental remediation or heavy civil construction projects. - Estimating and proposal development experience. - Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, or similar construction technology platforms. - Experience with GPS surveying, grade checking, and field layout. - HAZWOPER 40-Hour Certification. - Professional certifications such as PE, PG, QSP, QSD, PMP, CCM, or equivalent. This is a high-impact leadership role for a motivated professional who excels at building client relationships, identifying strategic growth opportunities, and driving business development initiatives across environmental, civil, and infrastructure construction markets. The ideal candidate is a relationship-driven leader with strong industry credibility, business acumen, and a deep understanding of construction operations and project delivery. This role blends strategic growth leadership with operational collaboration, helping strengthen ETIC’s market presence while supporting successful project execution throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in shaping ETIC’s long-term construction growth strategy, expanding service offerings, developing strategic partnerships, and supporting a collaborative, high-performing team environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Business Development & Strategic Growth - Lead strategic business development efforts focused on expanding ETIC’s construction and field services presence across public and private sector markets. - Identify and pursue new growth opportunities within environmental remediation, civil infrastructure, utility, industrial, and environmental construction sectors. - Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, agency representatives, and industry partners to support long-term business growth. - Support market expansion initiatives through targeted outreach, strategic networking, and participation in industry organizations and events.
