• Develop and execute a comprehensive platform engineering strategy aligned with business goals. • Serve as the internal "Product Owner" for the platform, focusing on enhancing the developer experience through tooling and automation. • Define the technical vision and oversee the design/architecture of scalable, secure platform components and services. • Identify, prioritize, and drive platform features and enhancements based on internal customer needs and data. • Stay current with emerging technologies and evaluate their potential impact and value to the platform. • Collaborate with engineering and product leaders to define technical initiatives and ensure cross-functional alignment. • Communicate platform strategy, progress, and outcomes to executive leadership and stakeholders. • Drive continuous improvement in platform engineering processes and foster a collaborative culture. • Ensure the consistent application of engineering best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance. • Monitor platform performance, reliability, and scalability, proactively addressing challenges.

• Define and own the end-to-end traceability and verification strategy, aligning requirements with design, implementation, and certification (DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A) • Establish and continuously improve systems engineering processes and governance • Lead safety assessment activities (FHA, SSA, FTA) • Serve as the SME for systems engineering standards and regulatory compliance (FAA, EASA) • Maintain current knowledge of evolving UAS regulations and proactively adapt practices • Lead the systems engineering and architecture team, providing technical direction on complex system-of-systems challenges • Own system architecture decisions, trade studies, and requirements decomposition across all domains • Drive the selection and implementation of requirements management and MBSE tools • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing systems engineering team • Partner with cross-functional teams (Software, Hardware, Ops) and Product Management to ensure alignment and seamless system integration

• Broad domain architect for the internal developer platform and all cloud engineering • Drive architecture for tooling or in-house software • Mentor other platform engineers to drive strong engineering practices • Enablement of platform engineering technical capabilities in our internal client teams in software engineering • Peer with the senior architects and engineers in software engineering • Architecture and engineering focused on GCP environment • Architect and oversee GKE cluster operations and workload management • Provide feedback to others and participate in peer reviews / pair programming • Drive the broad adoption of Test Driven Development through designing, development, and debugging unit and integration tests for new and existing infrastructure and code • Continuous curiosity of existing implementations and new technologies and sharing with the team • Practice continuous improvement across all job areas and personally / professionally • Clearly communicate with platform engineering teams and other stakeholders and provide technical direction while doing so • Stay current with platform changes and third-party libraries. • Proactively investigate better solutions for current solutions • An understanding of Open Telemetry and true observability and the difference between it and monitoring and logging • Grow the engineering culture towards a high-performing team • Practice the arts of self-service, least privilege and security by default in all solutions • Define and maintain Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Indicators (SLIs), and error budgets • Lead incident response, including on-call rotations, root cause analysis, and post-mortem reviews • Implement and optimize monitoring, alerting, and observability systems for system reliability • Collaborate on capacity planning and performance optimization to ensure high availability • Other duties as assigned

• Lead the architecture and development of primary mobile applications for iOS (iPad focus) and Android, ensuring maximum performance and reliability in the field. • Develop complex real-time visualization features, including maps, live video streaming, and dynamic telemetry overlays. • Drive the selection and implementation of mobile-first technologies, balancing the speed of cross-platform frameworks with the performance and hardware access of native development. • Optimize mobile applications for battery efficiency, memory usage, and low-latency data processing—critical for long-duration field operations. • Implement robust offline-first synchronization patterns to ensure mission continuity in areas with intermittent connectivity. • Collaborate with backend and hardware teams to define efficient API contracts and low-level communication protocols. • Work closely with UI/UX designers to implement interfaces adapted for varying field conditions. • Mentor junior developers and establish mobile best practices for CI/CD, automated testing, and crash reporting. • Ensure compliance with high-security standards and data privacy regulations across all mobile touchpoints.
