Role Description The Senior Customer Category Management Analyst supports the Category Management team for the purpose of developing category-selling presentations by analyzing trade programs, market information, shopper insights, panel and other data to tell a story armed with facts. The position will employ multiple data sources including Circana (IRI), internal data, consumer insights, and customer-specific information (Ex: 84.51, Retail Link, Mintel, and dunnhumby), to proactively identify segment and competitive trends, highlighting category and Dole opportunities. This role is home-office based, with a preferred location of California. The following states can also be considered: AR, AZ, CA, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, KY, MA, ME, MI, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, TN, TX, UT, WI. Responsibilities - Pull, analyze, and interpret data on category sales, market trends, customer behavior, shopper insights or other performance indicators with the goal of maximizing sales and profits. - Present findings to field sales teams, senior leadership, and customers along with recommendations for product mix, distribution strategy, pricing or promotional plans, and in-store shelf placement or merchandising activities. - Use Circana (IRI), internal and Customer-specific data to proactively identify segment trends, competitive trends and Dole opportunities. Serve as the chief storyteller to interpret data into actionable recommendations and seamlessly move from data to insights to action. - Develop account presentations to assist the sales team with achieving their objectives. Content in the presentations include SKU optimization, brand optimization, category performance, etc. - Research the role that the category plays in driving foot traffic, sales volume, and profitability for the retailer (e.g., low price leader for certain items, higher price for others, highest quality or best selection for certain categories, etc.). - Monitor and review manufacturer and retailer performance against category targets. - Lead retailer data creation and compilation for monthly period reviews in assigned categories. - Other duties as assigned. Qualifications - 4+ years of experience in Category Development or customer development work. - Strong familiarity with the issues and processes involved in selling to the retail grocery, club, eComm and mass merchandise trade. - Strong experience utilizing panel and other sources of data to create selling stories. - Solid experience with financial elements of the business, syndicated data, and general analytics. - Previous success championing recommendations to internal and external leadership. - Intermediate to Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills. - Familiarity with Circana’s (IRI’s) Unify platform. Education & Certification - Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field is required. - If no degree, must have 6+ years in a CPG sales or category management role. Travel Requirements - Occasional travel is required. Benefits - FOR JOBS BASED IN CALIFORNIA: Hiring Pay Scale: $85,000 to $110,000. - FOR JOBS BASED OUTSIDE OF CALIFORNIA: Hiring Pay Scale: $75,000 to $100,000. - Dole Packaged Foods is committed to paying our Associates fairly and equitably. Role Description The National Account Manager, Foodservice will drive profitable growth and strengthen business relationships with assigned National Account customers by developing and executing strategic sales plans, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring the effective management of account operations. - Lead development of assigned National Account customer business, taking ownership of account-specific strategies to drive profitable growth - Own creation and execution of National Account customer-specific annual sales plans, including forecasted volume growth, product distribution, innovation penetration goals, marketing activation strategy, and customer business review presentations (existing & new) - Use market and product knowledge to source and develop incremental business through prospecting, leads, and referrals - Cultivate and maintain effective business relationships with decision makers in assigned National Accounts - Pursue identified business prospects, leading the planning and sales process for new business opportunities. This role has a substantial emphasis on new business development. - Oversee execution of existing contracts, including renewal and expansion of existing customer relationships - Leverage restaurant research insights and trends and collaborate with Category Marketing, Sales Strategy, Innovation, and RGM to provide compelling solutions based on Dole’s business strengths - Maintain a thorough working knowledge of all Dole portfolio, and a deep understanding of the competition (e.g., markets, products, pricing, culinary and technical facets) - Own coordination and management of account operations support, including reconciliation of rebates, allowances, deductions and receivables for assigned National Accounts, as well as awareness and support of Customer Service for order fulfillment when necessary - Other duties as assigned Qualifications - 7-10 years foodservice sales experience - Knowledge of the Foodservice business from the ground up, with a thorough understanding of National Accounts segment - Has well-established contacts within National account Foodservice industry - Technical and analytical skills for evaluating market segments; familiarity with menu tracking and research reports preferred - Intermediate to advanced level computer skills (Excel & PowerPoint) - Interpersonal selling skills and negotiation expertise are essential; ability to penetrate to operator Marketing and Culinary teams as well as distributor and broker culinary teams is preferred - Strategic thinking (negotiating skills, initiate opportunities; solutions partner) - Ability to manage multiple accounts, while cultivating large volume opportunities Requirements - Passionate about a purpose driven career - Committed to fostering inclusive environments that support employee development and well-being - Sets clear expectations, encourages innovation, and drives continuous improvement - Models and coaches towards transparency and integrity in decision-making - Effectively facilitates cross-team communication and teamwork Education & Certification - Bachelor's degree required - Culinary training preferred Physical Requirements - Ability to sit and use the computer for extended periods of time - Ability to answer phones and use a variety of office equipment - Ability to lift 15 pounds and reach overhead Travel Requirements - 25-50% travel required Hiring Range - National Markets: $140,000 to $165,000 - Premium Markets: $150,000 to $175,000
