Title: Social Media Coordinator (Temp) Location: Los Angeles, CA Job Description: Crooked believes that we need a better conversation about politics, culture, and the world around us—one that doesn’t just focus on what’s broken, but what we can do to fix it. Job Summary: Crooked is looking for a Social Media Coordinator (Temp) in the Social department, reporting to the Associate Director, Social. This role will support day-to-day publishing, content production, and strategy implementation across all social Crooked Media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter (we just can’t say ‘X’, sorry), and other platforms). Candidates must have experience creating, distributing, and reporting on social content and representing brands or individuals to digital audiences. This role is based out of our Los Angeles office, and follows a hybrid schedule based on the job’s needs. We are looking for Los Angeles-based candidates. We, however, do not loan any equipment, such as laptops, therefore candidates will be expected to use their personal equipment. This is a 3 month contract with approximately 40 working hours per week. How You’ll Spend Your Time: - You’ll be the main point of contact on the publishing of social posts, including scheduling, copy approvals, tagging, content QC, and monitoring performance - Track KPIs for social channels and work with the Associate Director of Social to create clear paths to metrics goals - Help implement social media roadmap for Crooked that defines voice, social guidelines, and content and editorial strategy - Ensure that Crooked branding standards and messaging are maintained across all platforms - Ensure that Crooked’s branding standards, messaging, and style guides are maintained - Apply creative thinking to the analysis of content trends and breaking news, events, etc., and how they can be utilized in Crooked’s social distribution strategy to grow social following and the Crooked audience - Work with internal teams across Content and Design, to plan and publish the mix of original content and promotional content for crooked brands (merch, tour, books, subscription) - Develop real-time social campaigns and promotion plans around major tentpole events, trends, and cultural milestones, when needed and when aligned to bandwidth - Manage daily community moderation efforts - Provide reporting via Sprout and platform analytics as needed, usually quarterly at a minimum - Monitor the community to identify and document trends - Document interesting case studies to share insights and examples - Use knowledge of best practices, optimization tips, and SEO techniques to oversee posting guidelines and direct images, tags, descriptions, and metadata - Identify content trends and breaking news, and apply creative thinking to how they can be utilized towards social posting and distribution strategy - Keep tabs on industry trends and identify new platforms for distribution - Identify social influencers to follow and engage with, and fan communities to interact with and grow Crooked’s brand visibility What You’ll Bring To The Table: - 1-3 years of experience in Social Media, preferably in News and/or Entertainment - Social Media expertise – including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter - Strong computer skills in Keynote, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, with working knowledge of Dropbox and other communication tools. Or knowledge of similar software tools, and the ability to learn new software quickly - Must be extremely organized with a passion for process, procedures, and structure - Strong ability to communicate and collaborate across teams, both in writing and verbally. - You are a practical thinker and pride yourself on being solution-oriented - Dynamic and proactive, take initiative, and be a team player - You’re calm, cool, and collected as things change. You know being nimble is key to a role like this, and you know how to reprioritize as things change - Ability to work proactively, independently, and reliably under tight time frames in a fast-paced environment - You’re curious about learning new things and open to exploring new tools and processes when appropriate Pay and Perks: The salary range for this role is $35-40 per hour. Job Summary: Crooked is hiring for a Marketing Coordinator (Temp) in the Marketing department reporting to the Associate Director, Marketing. This role will focus on trafficking and execution of all in-network promotional placements across podcasts, YouTube & newsletters. Crooked is hiring only in the following areas: LA, NY, and DC. This is a remote position, and has the option to come into our offices in LA/DC office, if interested and local. We, however, do not loan any equipment, such as laptops, therefore candidates will be expected to use their personal equipment. This is a part-time, 3 month assignment with maximum of 20 working hours per week. How You’ll Spend Your Time: Crooked In-Network Promotion Execution - Weekly trafficking & execution of Crooked housekeeping (host-read, in-show audio promotions) process for initiatives including podcasts & vodcasts, newsletter, merch, Crooked Media Reads, Vote Save America, and live events. This includes: - Working with copywriters and relevant teams to gather promotional copy - Trafficking of promo copy to show production teams, ensuring all deadlines are met - Tracking & oversight of housekeeping calendar, copywriter & show team due dates via Asana - QC of in-episode reads - Monthly creation of house ads (pre-recorded, dynamically inserted audio or video ads) for Crooked priorities, working with Marketing, copywriters, audio, video & production teams to produce - Ad hoc feed drop execution, in collaboration with the Marketing team. Identifying in-network growth opportunities for Crooked shows & vodcasts to traffic full episode placements into new feeds, with the goal of building audience - Drafting of monthly housekeeping priorities email, with inputs & approvals from Crooked Marketing leads Ad Hoc Projects & Admin - Monthly department recap compilation/deadline management/copy-edits, working with Marketing team for copy inputs - Ad hoc meeting scheduling for relevant projects - Attendance in weekly department meetings and manager check ins for status updates - Availability via Slack & email for outstanding questions What You’ll Bring To The Table: - 1-2 years of experience - Familiarity or willingness to quickly adapt to workflows via Slack & Asana - Ability to strive in a fast-paced work environment, tracking and staying on top of multiple weekly deadlines - A “can-do” attitude, functioning as the connective tissue for the in-network promo process - Comfort with self-managing deadlines, leading trafficking discussions with Crooked stakeholders This job description provides a summary of how you’ll spend your time but is nowhere near exhaustive, so other duties may be assigned over time.
