Role Description Altura is actively seeking a Senior Building Automation Project Manager to support our Master Systems Integration (MSI) practice in order to help us grow and scale our impact. We are seeking someone who is excited to help us continue to pioneer best in class approaches to secure, scaled and centralized building automation system architectures that unlock the industry from proprietary and vertically managed hardware solutions. - Manage a portfolio of clients and projects, including client relationships, team leadership, technical oversight and schedule & budget management. - Lead MSI strategy and implementation projects, leveraging an in-house team of MSI implementation specialists and analytics tools to deliver superior client outcomes and building performance. - Maintain and grow a presence for Altura in the Mid-Atlantic through active engagement with clients, in local industry associations, speaking engagements, and through thought leadership. - Lead business development efforts to grow Altura’s client base and expand services with existing clients. Client outreach, business development, and proposals are expected to average 10% of your time. - Manage the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable Niagara programming and graphics supervisors to deliver centralized project optimization and analytics integration across existing and new building control systems. - Execute project work and manage internal teams to deliver: - Niagara migration projects: Project management, design strategy, vendor and client coordination, deep IT coordination, scheduling, proactive client communications, QAQC, training. - New Construction MSI Projects: Project management, design reviews, controls procurement support, vendor and client coordination, deep IT coordination, scheduling, proactive client communications, QAQC, training. - Enterprise Systems Administration: Project management, client coordination, stakeholder engagement, guidelines and specifications development, strategic network management oversight, systems and application strategy, training. - Travel within the U.S. engage with clients and manage projects as needed. Travel is expected to average 10-20% over the course of a year, and is expected to be largely confined to the East Coast. Qualifications - 10+ years of direct experience in the building automation system industry, including engineering, programming, graphics, and project management. - Solid understanding of information technology (IT) as it relates to building automation including experience collaborating and communicating with IT personnel. - 5+ years of experience as a project and client manager, including proposal development, budget and schedule management, and conflict resolution. - Excellent interpersonal skills and proven track record of building collaboration within teams to solve complex problems. - Proven track record of developing client relationships and selling new work, including significant experience with proposal strategy, pricing, and authoring. - Ambitious, positive, self-starting, problem-solving. Requirements - Experience procuring, implementing and managing scaled deployments of Niagara networks, including licensing and version control, compatibility requirements, vulnerability patching, resource monitoring and troubleshooting, architecture additions and expansion best practices. - Direct experience and skills using Tridium Niagara 4, including Niagara 4 certification, integration of a wide variety of 3rd party devices including proprietary and non-proprietary protocols. - Design and implementation of end to end building automation hardware and software solutions, including controller selection and layout, sensor selection and layout, network architecture layout, detailed articulation of sequences of operations, BAS scope of work documentation. Location: Reno, NV / Abilene, TX / Phoenix, AZ / Portland, OR / Seattle, WA / Denver, CO preferred, but can be remote anywhere in the central and western US. This is a traveler role if you are not local so you will need to be open to traveling up to 90+% to any location we have a business need. As a Superintendent within our Clark Technologies group, you will leverage your capacity for innovation and problem-solving to lead field operations to ensure an exceptional project is delivered to our clients. You will oversee self-performed and contracted work ensuring compliance with contract documents and the project schedule while also implementing a culture of safety and quality.Responsibilities - Analyze contract documents for constructability, code compliance and functionality - Lead MEP trade 3D coordination meetings and coordinated drawings submittal approval process - Guide and monitor MEP trade coordination and installation on site - Manage MEP trade material submittals in accordance with the contract documents - Manage MEP trade material tracking and procurement documentation - Develop, monitor, and maintain MEP schedule in conjunction with project field supervision team - Review field installation - Manage testing and commissioning efforts - Review and advise on MEP requisitions and contract changes - Handle MEP related close out document delivery - Encourage and participate in staff training and development - Understand MCA labor rates and NECA factors when reviewing proposals and change orders - Provide leadership to foster an environment of diversity, inclusion and safety - All activities as assigned Basic Qualifications - Undergraduate degree in mechanical, electrical or fire protection/life safety engineering, construction management or a related discipline OR 10+ years of relevant experience preferred - 10+ years experience in construction and managing MEP trades, experience with a general contractor preferred - Experience with data center or other mission-critical facilities is required. - Experience with successfully leading teams and working within MEP design review, drawing supervision, submittal review, field inspections, and testing & commissioning - Experience working on large scale construction, with MEP trade specific experience to create a vision that aligns the team to achieve desired results - Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines - A proven people leader with experience in attracting, developing, and engaging diverse talent by fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture based on trust and respect - Mitigate risk through proactive and timely reduction of change order exposures - Ability to quickly and effectively adapt to changes during different phases of the construction process - Alignment to Clark Standards of Excellence: self-motivated, results-oriented, adaptable, team player, accountable, ethical, innovative, resilient, builds relationships, builds people/teams and followership, sets direction, and executes Preferred Qualifications - Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines - A proven people leader with experience in attracting, developing, and engaging diverse talent by fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture based on trust and respect - Mitigate risk through proactive and timely reduction of change order exposures - Ability to quickly and effectively adapt to changes during different phases of the construction process - OSHA 10 certification - P6 experience - Procore experience The work environment and requirements described below are representative of those necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. The Physical Side of the Role: This is an active, hands-on role. You can expect to be on your feet frequently, navigating active job sites with uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, and hoists. The work is physically demanding and requires a full range of motion, including bending, kneeling, and reaching. You’ll need to be comfortable frequently lifting and carrying materials up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. This role requires the ability to communicate effectively, as well as visual acuity for reading plans and inspecting work. The role does include desk time in the office that may require prolonged periods of sitting for tasks like computer work, document review, and meetings. Your Work Environment: You’ll spend a significant amount of your time on active construction sites, which means being adaptable to all kinds of weather and moderate to loud noise levels, and comfortable in elevated or confined work areas with moving mechanical equipment and with the fast-paced nature of a project in progress. You will also spend time in a typical office setting with moderate noise levels.
