Role Description The Compensation & Benefits Analyst provides subject matter expertise for the design, delivery and maintenance of policies, programs and plans related to job evaluation, base pay, variable pay, pay premiums, employee recognition and employee group benefits. - Monitors trends and developments in the industry and recommends changes and enhancements to the CMPA’s compensation, employee group benefits, and recognition programs. - Works closely with HR Business Partners, Talent Management, Finance Services and colleagues on the Total Rewards team to ensure seamless delivery of compensation, benefits and recognition programs. - Reports to the Manager, Total Rewards and contributes to the design and development of the CMPA’s Total Rewards strategy. Qualifications - University Degree in Business, Human Resources Management, or related field. - 7 years of experience in the design, development and delivery of compensation and benefits programs. - Certified Human Resources Professional/Leader (CHRP/L), Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Certified Employee Benefits (CEBS) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) designation preferred. - Demonstrated experience in job evaluation, compensation benchmarking, market pricing, and managing cyclical compensation and benefits programs in a professional, non-unionized environment. - Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in total rewards management, with an emphasis on cash compensation and employee group benefits. - Knowledge of current employment legislation (e.g. Employment Standards Act (Ontario), Act Respecting Labour Standards (Quebec), Canadian Human Rights Code). - Experience working with an HRIS, preferably Workday. - Experience analysing compensation data and making recommendations to varying levels of leadership. Role Description The Finance department supports the CMPA’s mission and goals by safeguarding the Association’s assets and ensuring the proper valuation of the Association’s liabilities. The Actuary plays a key role in supporting both the Senior Actuary and Chief Actuary in strengthening the Association’s internal actuarial capabilities. This expertise is made available to senior management, Council, and all departments. - Contributes valuable insights on provisions for unpaid claims, fee-setting processes, funding strategies, trend analysis, experience monitoring, and sensitivity analysis. - Assists in developing, implementing, and reporting on various actuarial projects including: - Year-end and mid-year liability valuation - Occurrence year protection fee projection - Scenario and Stress Testing (SST) - Mid-to-long term balance sheet projection - Insurance program assessment - Supporting year-end external review and auditing activities - Collaborates with Senior Actuarial Analysts and Actuarial Analysts to support the modelling of future costs and claim counts. - Provides technical guidance on actuarial software and related systems. - Ensures accurate reporting of actuarial information to the Chief Actuary, Finance, and senior management. - May provide recommendations to senior management regarding specific actuarial matters in the absence of both the Chief Actuary and Senior Actuary.
